Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Lange Goldkapsel Auktion 2008 (1x37.5cl)
A Prum 2008 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese long gold capsule (which will eventually be auctioned) smells extraordinarily of gardenia, pine nuts, resin, honey, salted caramel, malt, smoky black tea, and diverse pit fruit preserves. Improbably creamy and ethereally buoyant, this palate-saturating exercise in ennobled Riesling projects a prodigious persistence that reflects the remarkable complexity of its scents, as well as a sense of blemish-free purity of botrytis that few wines of this vintage approach. All one needs now is the patience to permit this to fully express itself, which means waiting at least 20 years but anticipating rewards for the better part of a half century.
