Les Grands Chenes 2017 (6x75cl)
A very pretty and tight 2017 with dark-berry, blueberry and dark-chocolate character. Medium body, solid tannins and a fresh finish.
The 2017 les Grands Chênes is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of licorice, tar, tree bark and truffles over a core of black fruits. The palate is medium-bodied and firm with a decent core of earthy fruit, finishing long and earthy.

The 2017 Les Grands Chênes is pretty, soft and inviting, with silky contours and lovely up-front fruit. Sweet tobacco, mint, dried cherry, licorice and cedar add shades of aromatic nuance. The Grands Chênes is very nicely done, even if it offers a bit less depth than the norm. Then again, that is 2017. Tasted two times.

The 2017 Château Les Grands Chênes has a slight dustiness on the nose that I hope will dissipate with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, dark berry fruit laced with tar, although I find this is a little hard on the finish and needs more flesh.
