Oliverhill Jimmy Section Shiraz 2003 (1x150cl)
A prodigious, decadently rich effort, Oliverhill’s 2003 Shiraz Jimmy Section (15% alcohol) is a 100% Shiraz aged in French oak, of which one-third is new. It offers up a luxurious aromatic display of loamy earth, new saddle leather, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, and barbecue spices. Layered, chewy, full-bodied, and opulent with extravagant richness, sweet, supple tannin, and low acidity, this is a knock-out Shiraz to drink over the next 5-12 years.
Ripe, rich and chewy. Dense, with cherry, blackberry and dusky spice flavors emerging on the long finish with generosity and style. Hints at sweet, spicy oak as it lingers.
(15% alcohol) Deep medium ruby. Superripe, porty nose shows a slightly oxidative roasted nut element. Sweet and nutty, with a distinctly port-like surmaturite Dense and thick, with some sexy oak tones in the mid-palate, but the wood element gives the finish a dry edge. Ultimately lacks real shape.
