Palmer is technically a cooperative, but they are so quality-minded and unique that they can almost be classed as a grower Champagne. Much of their base wine ends up in the finest of the Grandes Marques' blends. The Brut Reserve spends 4 years on lees, an incredible amount of time for an 'entry level'. 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier make up this elegant champagne; grapefruit, white flowers, and pain au raisin notes over a soft, creamy mousse and precise acidity. Delicious and versatile.

Palmer & Co

There are fewer and fewer undiscovered treasures in Champagne these days, but Palmer & Co is undeniably one of the best kept secrets of the region. It is known and loved by a fortunate few who have had the pleasure to come across their unfailingly elegant, refined wines. With numerous 2008s hitting the market in recent months, this could easily go under the radar alongside the likes of Dom Pérignon, Cristal and Grande Dame, but such a rare wonder as this deserves serious consideration from anyone who genuinely appreciates a great bottle of bubbly.
