De Montille
Domaine de Montille in the Cote de Beaune was developed by Hubert de Montille in 1951. His family have aristocratic roots in the region’s land since the 17th century. Now run by his son, Etienne, they use traditional wine making techniques to produce pure elegant Burgundy that generally requires five years bottle ageing.

Vinous (91-93)The 2017 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a harmonious bouquet with ample ripe Morello cherry, strawberry and raspberry preserve aromas, a hint of vanilla in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little more compact than the Les Perrières and with more girth towards the grippy finish. As such, give this more bottle age because it is a fine Beaune Grèves. |

Vinous (93-96)The 2012 Corton Clos du Roi is a model of delicacy and finesse. Dark raspberries, wild flowers and savory herbs all meld together gracefully in a wine that is all about transparency, nuance and detail. Texture and a total sense of polish are some of the signatures that are impossible to miss. Dried herbs, crushed flowers and anise are all woven together nicely through to the finish. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2013 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru, which was two-third whole-cluster fruit, has a well-defined bouquet with very fine mineralité. These aromatics just speak of class. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh and supple tannins, finely-tuned acidity and commendable precision on the finish. This is a refined and sophisticated Clos du Roi in the making and one of de Montille's standouts of 2013. |
