Jerome Bougnaud’s credentials are impressive, having worked for many years at the likes of Quinta Sardonia and Pingus. When he
met Peter Sisseck back in 2000, it was only a matter of time before they joined forces. Together they worked through some of the best vintages at Pingus and in 2009 Bougnaud started a project of his own. When he came across a parcel of ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines, over 100 years old, with an elevation of 980 meters above sea level, Galia was born. Located above the village of Piquera de San Esteban, the gravel-sandy soils over limestone provide one of the most unique terroir of the region.
