Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone Ultra, from a vineyard planted in 1902, is super-finessed and classy. The fruit seems to hover on the palate. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and mint are some of the many notes that come together in the glass. The precise, understated finish is beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. |

Vinous (94)One of the highlights in the range, the 2011 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux Cuvée Ultra possesses superb balance. Sweet herbs, crushed rose petals, licorice, spices all meld together gracefully in the glass. This is a great example of the Perrot-Minot house style. All the elements fall into place effortlessly in a rich, resonant Chambolle endowed with tons of pure structure. Perrot-Minot used 50% whole clusters here, but they are barely noticeable. The finish simply dazzles. |

Vinous (90)Moderately saturated medium red. Musky aromas of cherrry, raspberry, coffee and underbrush; aromatic and wild. Suave, sweet and soft, boasting considerable early appeal but also plenty of vivacity. Finishes sappy, suave and long, with enough harmonious acidity to carry the fruit. Christophe Perrot-Minot noted that pHs in 2010 are consistently in the healthy 3.38 to 3.45 range. |
