Wine Advocate (92-93)Produced from a parcel located on the extreme northern end of its vineyard, just below Domaine Armand Rousseau's, Pierre Damoy's 1999 Chambertin was harvested at 32 hectoliters per hectare. It is medium to dark ruby-colored and reveals licorice, sweet cherry, blackberry, toasted oak, and spice flavors. This full-bodied wine has huge concentration to its rich and intense character. It is highly structured and youthfully austere, yet loaded with powerful black fruits and a strong oak influence. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2013+. |

Vinous (91-94+)Damoy's 2013 Chambertin comes across as decidedly wild and powerful in style. Juicy black cherries, mint, sage, lavender and violets flesh out as the 2013 shows off its breadth and density. Today, the Chambertin is quite raw, as the malos aren't quite finished. I suspect the 2013 will be quite a bit more complete and harmonious in a few months, once the elements meld together further. Still, the 2013 is impressive just the same. |

Grown in the prestigious terrain of Chambertin, this exceptional Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 is crafted delicately by the esteemed house of Pierre Damoy. This producer, notorious for his distinct insights, is recognised for producing less than 6000 bottles per year, making this wine genuinely limited and highly sought after. Sourced entirely from old vine Pinot Noir, meticulously hand-harvested and aged for 18 months in up to 50% new French oak barrels, its nobility exudes delicate trends of spices, ripe cherries, and blackcurrant, with undertones of earthy truffle. The exquisite balance of velvety tannins and vibrant acidity on the palate is synonymous to the impeccable, yet subtle ageing potential, making it an age-worthy promise. Philosophical in approach, the Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 encapsulates the best of Burgundy's terroir, reflecting the meticulous cultivation and traditional winemaking processes. |

Vinous (82)The 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot has a high-toned and rather ersatz bouquet compared to its peers. The palate is soft and mushroomy, fully mature but lacking tension and precision, quite dull on the finish. Tasted at Sarah Marsh MW’s 2002 Red Burgundy tasting. |
