    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)

Full lemon and light lime. Not so much nose but a classic pure St-Aubin white fruit in the mouth, a light grapefruit touch at the finish, fresh, with energy and persistence. Actually, very long indeed for this level. Tasted: October 2021

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)

A blend from three vineyards, Perrières, Combes, Créot. Mid lemon not clear, more fruit weight on the nose, into ripe apples here, less citrus, a little tension, matching the opulence of the fruit. Good length again. Tasted: October 2021

    Vinous (90-92)

The 2021 Saint-Aubin Hommage à Marguerite debuted five vintages earlier, a blend of Les Perrières, Les Combes and Les Criots. It has a clean, precise bouquet with crushed limestone filtering through the green apple and white peach notes. Understated by gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a peachy opening, good depth, a little creamier than other cuvées with ample weight on the Chassagne-inspired finish. Lovely.

Pale yellow. Deeply pitched aromas of yellow peach and apricot. Musky, leesy and quite dry, conveying an impression of power to its stone fruit and mineral flavors. Really spreads out to saturate the mouth without leaving any impression of undue weight.

    Vinous (91+)

Bright, green-tinged yellow. Aromas of lime, ginger and mint call to mind a mini-Chevalier-Montrachet. Juicy, pure and tightly wound, showing none of the exotic character of the Chatenière. This very concentrated, dry, linear wine finishes with terrific slowly unfolding length and precision--a bit austere today but not hard. Rémilly is just over the hill from Chevalier-Montrachet, so it's no coincidence that this is an outperformer for its appellation. Only 50% frost here, noted Pierre-Yves Colin. Lay this one down.

    Vinous (89-92)

(from three essentially south-facing vineyards; one-third 25-year-old vines and two-thirds 55): Pale yellow-green. Quite different on the nose than the Chatenière, offering fascinating scents of lemon and white peach complicated by herbs, mint and a suggestion of petrol. Impressively rich and thick but not oily, with flavors of lemon and lime ice enlivened by nicely integrated acidity. The palate-saturating finish is tactile but smooth, displaying terrific lift and length. There's no obvious rain effect here, due to the slope of the vineyards.

    Vinous (89)

(bottled in September of 2007) Pear and apple on the nose. Sweet, concentrated and spicy, with a distinct rocky character contributing to the wine's tactile impression. The minerality gives this wine freshness.

    Wine Advocate (91)

The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Chatenière has a more reserved and laconic bouquet compared to Pierre-Yves's other 2014 Saint Aubins, more backward and requiring more cellar time. The palate is fresh and crisp, quite precise with nectarine and lemon peel notes, peach following later with a light brush of honey. This is a punter-friendly Saint Aubin and I don't intend that in a bad way - just a wine that is delicious to its core.

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)

Mid lemon colour while the nose stands out with an extra nobility on top of Champlots. Powerful white fruit with a little lemon touch, opulent but balanced, some attractive flesh at the finish and very good length. Fine fresh tingle of youthful acidity at the finish. Tasted: October 2021

    Vinous (89-91)

The 2021 Saint-Aubin Les Champlots 1er Cru has a much more open and airy bouquet with crushed rock and struck flint unfurling in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh with crisp acidity, a little more reduced than other crus but with a welcome spiciness that prolongs the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
