Wine Enthusiast (93)An intensely ripe, fruity wine, which is already well integrated. The intense dark fruits are supported by some new wood and grainy tannins. This is powerful, and, with its acidity, should age well. |

Wine Enthusiast (91)A great success, with its concentration, solid tannins and black, bitter cherry fruit flavors. The wine has spice, licorice and some layers of wood. Certainly, this would be worth aging for 4-5 years. |

Wine Enthusiast (94)All fruit tannins, a structured, tight wine, its acidity offering great waves of black plum juice flavors. There is great power as well as the freshness and elegance. |

Decanter (93)One of the great value (everything's relative of course) wines of the Médoc, with brilliant work being done by Christophe Labenne and Matheiu Cuvelier of Clos Fourtet. Great Médoc character, full of mint and charcoal and a clear build up of power through the palate. This is rich and spicy with lovely rippling tannins and great depth to the autumnal berry fruit . A classic Poujeaux that will age well but there is no need to wait beyond six to eight years to start drinking this. A real success. Planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and an equal 5% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (94)The 2019 Poujeaux has a very delineated, focused bouquet of blackberry, cedar, mint and light tea leaf scents, one of the most complex I have encountered from this great estate in recent years. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, vibrant and grippy, with slightly chalky tannins and a saline, persistent finish. Quite structured and broody, this Moulis deserves ample time in bottle. |

James Suckling (94-95)A dense, layered red with blackberry, tar, asphalt and spice character. Medium-to full-bodied with wonderful, polished and creamy tannins. Chewy and fine. Potentially one of the best in a long time. |
