Exuding elegance from the esteemed Chardonnay vineyards of Meursault, emerges the masterpiece, Remoissenet Meursault 1er Cru Les Cras 2013. This fine white Burgundy, crafted by Remoissenet Père et Fils, a coveted producer with roots dating back to 1877, is truly a testament to their exemplary savoir-faire. Born out of first-rate Les Cras terroir, this wine revels in the limestone-rich soils, revealing an intoxicating minerality that coexists harmoniously with refined citrus and enchanting floral notes. Its creation, involving meticulously selected grapes and French oak barrel ageing, underlines the dedication to authentic Burgundy winemaking traditions, imbuing an exquisite textural complexity found in every sip. Remoissenet Meursault 1er Cru Les Cras 2013, a splendid vintage year, offers an intimate taste of the illustrious Burgundy region. Exceptional depth and a lingering finish, full of sophistication, punctuate this wine's remarkable allure, reinforcing its stature in the echelons of fine French wine. |

Vinous (92+)Deep red-ruby. Black cherry and dark berries on the backward nose. Concentrated and densely packed, with dark fruit and saline mineral flavors conveying an impression of brooding power. Much tighter and more masculine than the showy 2014 version, but these tannins are ripe and sweet. The juicy finish displays lovely lift and length. Excellent aging potential here. |

Vinous (93)Dark red with ruby highlights. Very ripe aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol are leavened by a distinct medicinal reserve. Sweet and thick but penetrating as well, with the black fruit flavors saturating the mouth. Finishes broad, gripping and long, with sweet tannins coating the teeth. I give this the edge over the young 2014 Clos Vougeot, but between the two vintages of Charmes-Chambertin I prefer the '14. |

Vinous (91-93)One of the highlights in this range, the 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is exquisite, particularly for the way it balances power, structure and intensity of fruit. A dash of mint and orange zest adds brightness to the classic blue/purplish fruit of Cazetiers, while the long, expressive finish is incredibly alluring. The Cazetiers is often one of my personal favorites within the Remoissenet range. The 2013 is another strong effort. |
