    Yann Durieux

Yann Durieux spent a decade at the prestigious Prieure Roch, a splinter estate of the renowned Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, before embarking on his own winemaking journey. During his tenure, he was entrusted with the management of their esteemed parcel of Clos-de-Bèze and learned from his mentor, Henri Frederic Roch.

As a fourth-generation Burgundian from Nuits-Saint-Georges who vinified his first vintage at the age of 13, Yann embodies the philosophy behind the finest Burgundy wines. In 2010, he founded his own domain, Recrue des Sens, and vinified his first three vintages in the cellars at Prieure Roch.

Yann's domain is located in the up-and-coming appellation of Hautes-Cotes de Nuits, adjacent to the renowned DRC. He meticulously manages his vineyards, utilizing a combination of organic and biodynamic farming techniques, and works exclusively with estate-owned, low-yielding vines. Yann employs whole bunches, natural yeast ferments, and no sulphur, demonstrating an uncompromising respect for his terroir.

Despite his rigorous adherence to traditional winemaking practices, Yann bottles all of his wines as Vin de France, deliberately eschewing the customary Burgundy hierarchy. This unconventional approach has contributed to the cult status of his wines, which can be described as a blend of the finest natural wine movement elements with the prestige of the world's most legendary winery.

Yann produces a limited quantity of 3,000-5,000 bottles per vintage, and due to high demand from Burgundy aficionados, he cannot prioritize sending samples to international wine critics. Nonetheless, we encourage lovers of Burgundy and fans of DRC, Leroy, and Prieure Roch to seize this opportunity.
