Wine Advocate (98)The amazing, pedal to the metal/full throttle/balls to the wall, sweet 1910 Pedro Ximenez Solera is a dark amber-colored, full-bodied, unctuously-textured beauty that should be sipped and savored slowly and carefully at the end of a meal with a plate of cashews. It is remarkable stuff. The price is not high for what it represents. |

The Real Review (97)Medium red colour with a trace of purple in the rim. The bouquet is pepper-spicy, stemmy and savoury, with a whiff of new kid leather, while the palate is elegantly structured and yet firm, tremendously intense, taut as a bow-string, and magnificently balanced. This is a stunning pinot of a complex, bunchy style, already drinking well, with more held in reserve. 17 JUN 2020 |

The Real Review (99)Deepish crimson colour with a good tint of purple on the meniscus. The bouquet is restrained and shy, brooding and deep, all confirmed by the palate, which is also full-bodied and very deep, concentrated and densely packed, with more earth-bound than fragrant aromatics, some smoky-barrel nuances neatly combining with five-spice and dried thyme touches. A robust, powerful pinot with terrific length and potential. |

Wine Advocate - Robert Parker (94)Deep garnet with a touch of purple, the 2009 Cluster M45 Shiraz has notes of fragrant earth and forest floor over youthful black fruits and tar. Full-bodied and built like a brick house with firm chewy tannins and a nice acid backbone, it has a wonderfully long, earthy finish. James Suckling (2009) 94 pts Peat, smoke and bonfire with a plump mid-palate pushing the envelope, with some stemmy complexity keeping the tone drinkable. Most powerful wine of the tasting. Drink now or hold. |

Decanter (95)At this family-owned, 26ha estate, seventh generation Alexis Depardon, at just 22, is gradually assuming charge of the domaine’s operations, currently overseeing the 3ha of Côte de Py in Morgon. He has a focus on terroir expression inherited from his parents. This cuvée is sourced from a rocky plot with blue schist soil. Rosemary George MW: Fresh red fruit aromas, and fresh on the palate with fruit and acidity in balance. Good weight and concentration. Andy Howard MW: Rounded and appealing style, lovely weight of dark berry and cherry fruit on the palate. Oak is subtle and well integrated. Freshness on the finish with acidity and a hint of graphite coming through. Fine, elegant Morgon. Dominique Vrigneau: Fresh on nose. Nice vibrant fruit in the mouth. Long clean finish and good balance. Pretty. Drinking Window 2021 - 2028 |

Halliday Wine Companion (96)60/40% upper/lower Yarra Valley fruit. Hand picked and open-fermented with 60% whole berries, the remainder whole bunches. A very bright, light–medium crimson red. A gentle waft of fresh raspberries and cranberries, with just the right amount of spice-rack spices. Delicious right out of the gate, this medium-bodied and refreshing wine will age well too. The perfect introduction to modern Yarra pinot. |

Vinous (94)Vivid ruby. A highly complex bouquet evokes ripe red/blue fruits, candied flowers and exotic spices, and a smoky mineral nuance builds as the wine opens up. Stains the palate with appealingly sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors that become livelier and spicier on the back half. Conveys an impressive blend of power and finesse and lingers with superb persistence on the finish, which features sneaky tannins and lingering florality. |

Vinous (95)Deep, shimmering violet. Powerful, spice-tinged red and blue fruit preserve and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suggestions of musky earth and licorice. Alluringly sweet and seamless in the mouth, offering sappy, mineral-driven black raspberry, cherry liqueur, lavender and five-spice powder flavors that expand through the back half. Finishes extremely long and nervy, with harmonious tannins building steadily and adding solid grip to reverberating cherry and floral notes. |

On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a deep and multidimensional core, succulent acids and powdery tannins. Beautifully balanced and structurally refined despite its power and concentration, this is worth a special effort to seek out. |

Experience the exquisite taste of the Philippe Pacalet Moulin A Vent 2020. This notable wine is created by Philippe Pacalet, a renowned natural wine producer in the heart of Burgundy. Continuing an impressive family lineage of expert winemakers, Pacalet's approach exemplifies traditional methods, blending them seamlessly with biodynamic ideologies. Wine Advocate (95)The 2017 Moulin-à-Vent Les Trois Roches is superb—and likely the king of the cellar chez Chermette this year—wafting from the glass with a beautiful bouquet of raspberries, potpourri, orange rind and rose petal. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and supple, with the most depth and amplitude of any wine in the portfolio and the most held in reserve, too. This is a fantastic expression of Moulin-à-Vent from one of Beaujolais’s greatest winemakers, and it comes warmly recommended. |

Halliday Wine Companion (95)One of the most daring releases of recent times, not so much for its blend of shiraz, pinot noir and sauvignon blanc as its bold shot at 100% whole bunch fermentation in the cold, wet '11, from a vineyard so run down it almost didn't crop at all. Bill Downie has worked his magic to create a hauntingly ethereal wine of internal harmony, silky structure and captivating exoticism. |

Halliday Wine Companion (94)A blend of pressings of Shiraz (62%)/Cabernet Sauvignon (33%)/Dolcetto (5%) assembled from barrels of 2006 vintage with some 'reserve' barrels of the best vintages over the past 10 years. It is neither fearsomely tannic or alcoholic, rather a medium- to full-bodied wine with licorice, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2005 Alan’s Cabernets Vat 1 is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. It was aged in 100% new French oak hogsheads for 18 months. Very perfumed and complex, it offers up notes of cedar, smoke, pencil lead, ginger, black currants, and blackberry liqueur. Creamy textured and nicely balanced, it will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2025. |

Wine Advocate (92+)A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, the 2012 Agincourt possesses a deep garnet-purple color and notes of crushed blackberries, black cherries and blueberries with hints of violets, pencil lead and Provence herbs. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is wonderfully structured with firm, fine-grained tannins and great freshness plus enough muscular fruit to flesh out this modestly weighted wine. It finishes with great length. |

Wine Advocate (92)Opening with a gorgeous, white blossom-laced perfume, the 2012 Carrodus Viognier is scented of peach blossoms, frangipani and spiced pears with suggestions of baker's year and acacia honey. Medium to full-bodied and wonderfully concentrated on the palate, it gives tons of honeyed and spiced stone-fruit flavors with just enough acidity to lift this creamy textured wine to a long finish. |
