Often hailed as the epitome of fine Scotch, the Glen Scotia Campbeltown Single Malt Fighting Fish 21YO 1992, comes steeped in heritage. A sublime offering from Glen Scotia distillery, one of the last three standing in Campbeltown, a historic whisky producing region of Scotland. This single malt honours the year of 1992, maturing for twenty-one long years, thus offering a rich depth of character and intricacy. Presenting a captivating blend of sweet fruits and soft spices, it spoils the palate with distinct notes of vanilla, orange, caramel, and touches of peat smoke. The long, warm finish hints at the whisky's distinctive Campbeltown character. Housed in an ornate bottle, the Glen Scotia Campbeltown Single Malt Fighting Fish 21YO 1992 is a collector's delight, encapsulating the master craftsmanship of Glen Scotia. A supreme liquor for spirit-fanatics, it paints a vivid picture of intense flavour fusion and time-honoured whisky making traditions. |

Decanter (97)The merest touch of caramel pops up on the nose – or is it a tone of apple with a touch of maple syrup? Later on, lovely smokiness sets a reductive accent. The palate has a very textural presence, a very lively mousse, almost urgent and certainly vivid. That textural element is also expressed in flavours of wet chalk, countering bright lemon and being complemented by rounded ripeness of fruit. The lemony length is endless, mouthwatering, with an edge that is reminiscent of apricot or Mirabelle plum skin, underlining the mouthfeel before that lemon zestiness takes over again on the long finish. Tasted from magnum. |

Jancis Robinson (18.5)‘An exceptional year’, with a dry winter, fresh spring, good flowering. Mild summer with a cloudy July and August, and a hot, sunny September. Bright garnet. Pale rim. Broad and rich with a minty note. More mainstream than many in terms of its build and flavours. Still evolving but beautifully balanced. Lots of energy and transparency. No heaviness at all. Rich but lifted. Already gorgeous but there are tannins behind the exotic fruit and brilliant freshness. Still quite youthful. |
