Vinous - Antonio Galloni (91)
Nicolas Thienpont's 2019 Alcée offers notable freshness and energy, which is a very good sign for its potential over the coming years. Sweet dark cherry, plum, tobacco, spice, new leather and licorice all take shape in the glass. There is lovely energy and vibrancy here. Tasted three times.HK$1,860.00 -
Wine Advocate (91-93)
The 2020 Alcee has an opaque purple-black color and alluring scents of stewed black plums, black cherry preserves and raspberry pie, plus suggestions of star anise, rose hip tea, wild mushrooms and cinnamon toast. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with densely packed black fruit and red berry accents, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and fragrant.HK$1,260.00 -
James Suckling (91-92)
Some pretty spice notes here, with licorice, clove and blue and black berries. Medium-bodied with a creamy and plush tannin texture. Supple finish. Sea salt at the end. 91% merlot and 9% cabernet franc.HK$830.00 -
(12x75cl) 2022Jeb Dunnuck (93)
I loved the 2022 Château Alcée, a very complete, balanced, ultra-classic Castillon that's loaded with minerality as well as notes of ripe black cherries, spring flowers, and spice. With medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and a gorgeous finish, it might be the finest vintage of this cuvée to date. This cuvée is 100% Merlot that was raised 40% in new barrels, with the balance in once used oak, as well as 10% in concrete tanks.HK$1,630.00 -

(1x75cl) 1997Vinous (89)
Medium-deep red. Superripe, aromatic nose of plum, cherry and loam; not at all over the top. Sweet, pliant and full, with surprising vinosity for the vintage. Not as dense as the '96 but very attractive. Finishes with sweet, fine tannins.HK$1,375.00 -
(6x75cl) 2014James Suckling (93)
On the nose this may not be a dramatic wine, but it's fresh and floral. It has a quiet confidence that is missing in many of the 2014 Barolos. On the palate, the turbocharger kicks in. The wine's impressive tannic power leaves most of the competition behind it, but there's real finesse at the long finish. Drink after 2020.HK$3,450.00 -
James Suckling (96)
Gorgeous aromas of dark berries, cedar and very ripe fruit that follow through to a full body, deep and dense tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Plush. Drink in 2022 and beyond.HK$965.00 -

Rich and generous, this red delivers cherry, raspberry, rose and sweet spice aromas and flavors. Harmonious and charming, with bright acidity and beautifully integrated tannins, this firms up on the long, vanilla-tinged finish. Best from 2026 through 2045. 1,295 cases made, 680 cases imported.HK$1,120.00 -

(6x75cl) 1996Wine Advocate (94)
The stunning aromatics of the 1996 Barolo is full-bodied and muscular. It possesses high tannin as well as extract, and mouth-searing acidity that gives the wine both great precision as well as a frightfully backward character. A super-dense, extracted, and rich Barolo, it will not be ready to drink for a decade. Discipline in the form of cellaring is definitely required for this fabulous Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030.HK$17,500.00 -
(1x75cl) 2008Wine Advocate (95)
The 2008 Barolo Cicala is beautifully focused and vibrant from start to finish. It boasts fabulous energy and sheer tension in its ripe red berries, spices, crushed flowers and mint. All the elements come together beautifully in this pure, delineated Barolo. Huge, powerful tannins provide the backdrop for layers of cool, mineral-infused fruit. There is a pulsating energy to the Cicala that is absolutely irresistible. This is another fabulous showing. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.HK$1,300.00 -
(1x75cl) 2010Wine Advocate (97)
The 2010 Barolo Bussia Cicala opens to a dark ruby color and a richly concentrated appearance. This wine will appeal to those who appreciate added texture and heft in their Barolo. A special nod also goes to the aging potential of the wine that promises to be long and steady especially given the high quality of the 2010 fruit. Bussia Cicala imparts deep textural richness with lovely finesse and structural integrity. Hold this wine for ten years or more. Its profound beauty is already evident, but the wine has barely started its evolutionary course. Drink: 2018-2035.HK$1,600.00 -
James Suckling (95)
Stunning rose-petal nose with hints of licorice and herbal tea. The palate has generosity, and the tannins have a polish that's rare in 2014 Barolos. If you like tannins, then you will agree with us that this is already delicious. It also has a long life ahead of it. Better after 2020.HK$14,265.00 -

Perfumed and very bright with dried flowers, dark berries and a sandalwood undertone. Full body, integrated tannins and a soft and polished finish. Very pretty and structured. Harmonious. Measured. Drink in 2023 or later.HK$6,165.00 -
(6x75cl) 2016Vinous (92+)
The 2016 Barolo Cicala opens with effusive aromatics laced with all sorts of exotic spice and floral notes. On the palate, the 2016 is much less forthcoming, though. Then again, this is Cicala, a wine that is often unyielding in its youth. It will be interesting to see where the 2016 goes in the coming years. It certainly has potential. Time in the glass brings out hints of iron, chalk, white pepper and dried herbs that are so typical of this Bussia site.HK$7,255.00 -
Vinous (92)
The 2017 Barolo Cicala is a powerful, deep wine. Black cherry, menthol, tobacco, scorched earth, chocolate and searing tannins are some of the signatures. The Cicala has plenty of depth, but my instincts say it will mature before the tannins soften. I would prefer to drink this over the next decade, but readers need to expect that the balance is not ideal.HK$4,505.00 -
Wine Spectator (97)
Pure and supple in texture, boasting aromas and flavors of rose, cherry, raspberry, vanilla and toasty oak, this red is pretty seamless already, with refined tannins that emerge on the finish, needing time to absorb the oak. There’s also a saline mineral element that lingers at the end. Best from 2027 through 2048. 495 cases made, 45 cases imported.HK$8,560.00 -
(12x75cl) 2020Vinous (93)
The 2020 Barolo Cicala is packed with black fruit, espresso, licorice, vanillin, new leather, cloves and tobacco. A huge, dense Barolo, the 2020 possesses notable textural intensity and volume. At the same time, sweet new oak signatures are overpowering, while Cicala character is overwhelmed by the wood. Even so, this is a very good wine, just not one that is true to site.HK$16,565.00 -
Wine Advocate (94)
The 2013 Barolo Bussia Colonnello is the most ethereal and delicate of the Bussia series of wines. Fruit is sourced from a portion of the Bussia vineyard that is located closer to the village of Barolo (one kilometer away) than it is the village of Monforte d'Alba (five kilometers away). The sandy soils found here make for softer and tamer tannins especially when compared to the other parts of Bussia. The bouquet opens to aromas of blue flowers, spice, wild berry, licorice and white truffle. This is a softly nuanced and finessed Barolo made with fruit from 45-year-old vines.HK$5,550.00 -
Vinous (92)
The 2014 Barolo Colonnello is dark and inward. Succulent black cherry, smoke, leather, licorice, menthol and dark spice all run through this unctuous, super-concentrated Barolo. In most vintages, the Colonnello is a bit more aromatic and light on its feet, while the 2014 is a decidedly rich, heady wine, and yet all the elements are in the right place.HK$4,940.00 -
James Suckling (98)
The luster of new oak shines bright here, as do the very bright and assertively ripe cherries and red plums, as well as orange zest. The tannins are a highlight with a very fluid and fleshy core of red-fruit flavor, building to a tight and long finish. This is regal Barolo. Try from 2023.HK$1,260.00 -
