Vinous - Antonio Galloni (86)The 2012 Fayat offers good immediacy, but lacks complexity and depth. I would prefer to drink the 2012 over the next few years, while the flavors remain bold and juicy, as there isn't much material here to allow for aging. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (89-91)The 2019 Fayat is a friendly, easygoing Pomerol. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the fruit retains its youthful juiciness. Inky blue fruit and sweet spice meld into the supple finish. The 2019 is not especially complex, but it is quite tasty. Best of all, it should drink well upon release. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (93)The 2020 Fayat was the most promising vintage that I had encountered from barrel. Now in bottle, it certainly possesses an appealing nose: black cherries, boysenberry, black truffle all vying for attention. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine structure. It eases the brakes on towards the finish in order to retain refinement and freshness, completing yes, the best Fayat in many years. |

Wine Advocate (93)This estate is coming to life again after a long period of mediocrity. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Feytit Clinet is performing brilliantly, offering up notes of chocolate-covered blackberries, licorice, incense, and notions of earth as well as oak. A 1,600-case blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, from a 15-acre vineyard situated near Trotanoy, the 2005 is full-bodied and powerful with sweet but substantial tannin, good acidity, and a long finish. It will benefit from 5-6 years of bottle age, and should improve over the following two decades. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)Game, smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense run through the 2014 Feytit Clinet, which exudes depth and intensity. Chocolate, gravel and a host of dark-toned fruits nearly bury the tannins. The 2014 saw five days of cold soaking followed by 26 days on the skins. Malolactic fermentation was done in barrel. The blend is 94 % Merlot and 6 % Cabernet Franc. Proprietor Jérémy Chasseuil and his team have done a terrific job with the 2014. |

Jeb Dunnuck (97)One of the true blockbusters in the vintage is the 2015 Château Feytit-Clinet and readers should beg, borrow, or steal to get ahold of this beauty. Made from 96% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, it offers an incredible perfume of black cherries, blackcurrants, spring flowers, violets and damp earth. With a huge, full-bodied profile, an opulent, seductive texture, big tannin, and perfect balance, it’s a true superstar that’s going to cruise in the cellar for two to three decades. |

Wine Advocate (95+)The 2016 Feytit Clinet is a blend of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc aged for 16 months in 70% new and 30% one-year-old French oak barrels. It has a deep garnet-purple color with lifted blueberries and black cherries with hints of lilacs, black tea, potpourri, wood smoke and black soil. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated, rich and bold with firm, rounded tannins, seamless freshness and a very long finish with chocolate hints. About 1,583 cases produced. |

Jeb Dunnuck (95+)I love this tiny Pomerol estate, which is brilliantly run by Jeremy Chasseuil. The vineyard covers just over six hectares situated between Trotanoy and Latour A Pomerol, in the Clinet sector of the Pomerol appellation. The 2017 Chateau Feytit-Clinet is mostly Merlot (there’s 7% Cabernet Franc) that spent 16 months in 65% new French oak. It’s never a shy wine, and the 2017 offers loads of ripe black fruits, lavender, orange blossom, and exotic floral and violet aromatics. These carry to a full-bodied Pomerol that has a mouthfilling, expansive texture, ripe, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It offers more fruit, opulence, and sexiness than just about every wine in the vintage. It’s already hard to resist yet will benefit from 5-7 years of bottle age and cruise for two decades. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96-99)From one of my favorite estates in Pomerol, situated between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol, the 2018 Château Feytit-Clinet is currently sitting at 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc being raised in 70% new French oak. Sporting a deep purple/blue color as well as a massive bouquet of blackberries, smoked herbs, liquid violets, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a weightless, seamless texture, thrilling purity, and a great, great finish. It’s a powerful wine hitting 14.9% alcohol yet there’s not a trace of heat. Offering beautiful purity and flawless balance, it reminds me of the 2010, only better. |

Jeb Dunnuck (97)Jeremy Chasseuil continues to make a brilliant, ripe, incredibly sexy Pomerol that always seems to put a smile on my face. His 2019 Château Feytit-Clinet is inky-hued and has a blockbuster nose of ripe black fruits, damp earth, chocolate, and tobacco. This all carries to a full-bodied Pomerol with background oak, ripe, velvety tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish. I wish there were more wines like this in the vintage. It offers pleasure today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and cruise for over two decades. Bravo! |

Bordeaux | 4 | 96-98 (JD) | HK$6,235.00 | |||||
Jeb Dunnuck (96-98)Another blockbuster in the making from this tiny estate in Pomerol, the 2020 Château Feytit-Clinet is based on a normal blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, hitting 14.8% natural alcohol with a pH of 3.7. The aging will span 18 months in 70% new French oak. It boasts a dense purple hue as well as a stunning nose of crème de cassis, currants, tobacco, and damp earth. About as ripe, sexy, and opulent as they come, it still shows the purity and freshness of this great vintage. It reveals more and more tannins with time in the glass, but given its mid-palate as well as its overall density, it’s going to benefit from just 3-4 years of bottle age and cruise for 20-30 years. |

Jeb Dunnuck (98)One of the more powerful wines in the vintage, the 2022 Château Feytit Clinet brings an almost Petrus-like structure and density as well as a stunning nose of ripe red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, chocolate, tobacco, and truffles. With full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, nicely integrated smoky oak, and a blockbuster of a finish, this brilliant wine should be snatched up by savvy readers. It will ideally be given 4-6 years in the cellar, but you'll be excused for opening bottles now. It should cruise for two decades, if not longer. The 2022 is 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, from the Clinet, Latour, and Feytit lieux-dits, aged in 70% new barrels. It hit 14.5% alcohol with a solid pH of 3.75. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96)With just under 2,000 cases produced, the 2023 Château Feytit-Clinet comes from one of my favorite producers in Pomerol, an estate located in the Clinet sector and run by Jérémy Chasseuil that's always worth seeking out. Based on 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc from gravel and clay soils and aged 15 months in 70% new French oak, it offers assorted darker berry fruits, scorched earth, chocolate, and leafy tobacco on the nose. On the palate, it's concentrated and full-bodied, with a broad, layered mouthfeel, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's a rich, opulent, sexy wine in the vintage that's going to cruise for two decades or more. Drink 2026-2046. |
