Sourced from a vintage of only seven hectares, endowed with limestone and clay soils, this grand Saint-Emilion Grand Cru was matured 18 months in new French oak barrels, lending it a phenomenal structure. A convergence of rich, plummy fruit and opulent spice notes offer a captivating complexity on the nose, followed by an equally expressive mouthful; generous, intense, with a gracefully enduring finish, befitting its noble lineage.
Akin to its predecessors, the La Couspaude 2013 ardently maintains an unerring proportion between depth and elegance, firmly cementing its standing as a cherished member of the Aubert Family wine portfolio. A stunning choice for any serious fine wine collection.

The 2019 La Couspaude is powerful and a bit rough around the edges, but will merit an even more positive note if the fruit emerges a bit more fully in élevage. Dark cherry, plum, leather, cedar, tobacco and earthy notes give the 2019 a lower register of expression that is quite attractive.HK$3,855.00 -

(1x75cl) 2015La Croizille 2015 exemplifies the elegance and depth characteristic of esteemed Haut-Médoc appellations. Crafted by the venerable Château de la Croizille, this vintage boasts a meticulous vinification process. Hand-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving their vibrant fruit profiles. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in a combination of French oak barrels, imparting subtle tannins and complex aromatic layers without overwhelming the varietal purity. The terroir of La Croizille, with its gravelly soils and optimal climate, contributes to the wine’s structured yet supple nature. On the nose, La Croizille 2015 reveals notes of blackcurrant, cedar, and a hint of tobacco, while the palate offers rich flavours of ripe plum and cassis, balanced by silky tannins and a lingering finish. This vintage is a testament to the producer’s dedication to quality and tradition, making La Croizille 2015 a distinguished choice for connoisseurs seeking refined Bordeaux excellence.

The 1998 La Dominique replicates the fine performance it showed from magnum two weeks earlier. The bouquet offers blackberry, raspberry coulis, sage and truffle on the nose, a touch of mint developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, still fresh and cohesive with black fruit, tobacco, a touch of dark chocolate with a finish you might easily mistake for a Pomerol. There is just a note of dryness and linearity on the finish, at least in the bottle, but larger formats should still give lots of pleasure. Tasted at the vertical tasting at La Dominique.HK$8,070.00 -

Attractive ripe dark berries and some darker chocolate, no to mention sweet earth and violets. The palate has impressive density and depth, not to mention great length and weight. Mulberry and dark-cherry flavors hold fresh. Best from 2022.HK$5,405.00 -

Aromatic and abundant on the nose, smells appealing and heady with floral touches alongside ripe red cherry and blackcurrant reflections. Amazing clarity to the fruit profile on the palate with such minerality driving the wine from start to finish. It has spicy tones, liquorice and toast that give texture and depth with acidity keeping things refreshing. Lovely grace. Tannins are fine and provide plenty of grip in the mouth supporting the fruit with excellent freshness and a wet stone character that puts you in St-Emilion. So charming, confident and characterful - lots to enjoy here. First full vintage with new technical director Yann and consultant Julien Viaud. Tasted twice. The 50th vintage at La Dominique since it was purchased in 1969.HK$2,820.00 -

The 2022 Château La Dominique might be the finest I've tasted from this estate. Located in the northern part of Saint-Emilion, not far from Cheval Blanc as well as the Pomerol border, with plenty of clay in the soils, it's based on 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, raised in 50% new barrels. Gorgeous darker currant and black cherry fruit, chocolate, leafy herbs, and a Pomerol-like damp earth character all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has incredible purity, silky tannins, and a great finish. It's a gorgeously textured, seamless, balanced Saint-Emilion that already offers pleasure yet has a solid two decades of prime drinking ahead of it. Bravo.HK$5,140.00 -

Sleek ruby red, well judged extraction and use of oak, this is a great quality La Dominique, continuing a run of enjoyable vintages at this property under the team of Gwendeline Lucas and winemaker Yann Monties. Plenty of estate and appellation signature, sweet damson, black cherry, pomegranate and stone fruits, campfire smoke, clove spice and juicy lift, with a lingering, mouthwatering finish. Julien Viaud consultant. Tasted twice. 49hl/h yield. Harvest September 6 to 28, subdividing plots, including leaving the beginning and the ends of the rows for later harvesting. Aged in a mix of amphoras, wine globes, concrete eggs, 50% new oak.HK$2,100.00 -

Solidly made, this deep ruby/plum-colored 2012 (92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc) offers up black cherry and cassis fruit, not a lot of complexity, a generous, juicy mouthful of wine. It is medium-bodied, cleanly made and best drunk over the net 8-10 years.HK$2,070.00 -
Wine Advocate (78-80)
This wine is light, pleasant and fruity, but diluted. Drink it up over the near-term. La Fleur has been on a qualitative tier of late, but the 2013 is certainly not in that category.HK$2,345.00
