The 2018 La Serre has a gorgeous, pure bouquet of vibrant wild strawberry and cranberry fruit, very well defined with neatly integrated new oak. The palate is silky-smooth on the entry. There is beautifully judged acidity and impressive depth with hints of dark chocolate toward the finish. This is a wonderful Saint-Émilion that comes highly recommended. As I said before, a hidden gem.HK$2,555.00 -

Ripe red cherries and blackcurrants on the nose with a delicate floral fragrance. Chalky and mineral straight away with a wet stone clarity to the texture and flavours of pencil led, graphite and menthol. Super fresh with cool fruit flavours. Well packaged and balanced, nicely charming with tons of polish. Really delicious and understated, quietly confident. I love it.HK$2,420.00 -

The 2020 La Serre is a brooding, potent Saint-Émilion. Blackberry jam, cloves, licorice, leather, incense, tobacco and gravel add to an impression of gravitas and virile intensity that builds as it opens gradually in the glass. There's real weight and substance here.HK$2,545.00 -

The 2010 La Tour du Pin is showing incredibly well. A blend of 75% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc from just over 17 acres, this wine is a sleeper of the vintage. It offers up loads of blueberry, black raspberry and boysenberry fruit, stunning opulence, freshness and precision, despite its flesh and fat. Pure, fragrant and -open for business,- so to speak, this is a gorgeous wine to drink over the next 10-15 years.HK$2,175.00 -

(12x75cl) 2005Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)
The 2005 La Tour Figeac is silky, gracious and so expressive. Red-toned fruit, mocha, cinnamon and flowers give the 2005 a good deal of aromatic lift to match its mid-weight personality. The finish narrows just a bit, but this is still a very pleasing, nuanced Saint-Émilion. At this point I would not push my luck too much on aging. The 2005 is a gorgeous wine that shows the more delicate side of Saint-Émilion.HK$7,020.00 -

Really fabulous on the nose, with sweet milk chocolate, flowers, currant and plum. Full-bodied, with incredible length. The tannins are so silky, but they are warm and cuddly. You just want to hug it. Powerful but so attractive. The blend is one third each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Score range: 97-100HK$5,715.00 -
(12x75cl) 2015Jeb Dunnuck (93)
Made with guidance from Stéphane Derenoncourt and from a great terroir near the Saint-Emilion/Pomerol border, the 2015 Château La Tour Figeac is a classic effort that offers lots of ripe red and black fruits, tobacco, damp earth and truffle aromas and flavors. It's ripe, polished and balanced, with sweet tannin, integrated acidity, and a clean, classy feel, all of which make it a joy to drink already. Nevertheless, it should be at its best from 2020-2032. Tasted twice.HK$3,980.00 -
(6x75cl) 2016Vinous - Antonio Galloni (89)
The 2016 La Tour Figeac offers good fruit intensity and depth. Readers should plan on giving it a few years in bottle, as the tannins are a bit coarse today. Red cherry, plum, espresso and floral notes add complexity throughout. Even so, the tannins retain a toughness that is not likely to ever fully disappear.HK$2,095.00 -

A wine of stature and finesse, the 2019 La Tour Figeac is regal in its bearing. An exotic mélange of dark red fruit, kirsch, mocha, dried herbs, licorice, spice and rose petal soars out of the glass. The Cabernet Franc is especially evident, just as it was en primeur. La Tour Figeac is deep and beautifully layered, yet remains medium in body and refined, with notable raciness that is so appealing. A major sleeper for the year, La Tour Figeac is a knock-out.HK$3,535.00 -

Saturated dark red. Superripe aromas of roasted black raspberry, smoke and game, with a hint of exotic spices. Silky, fat and sweet, with terrific volume. Chewy, concentrated flavors of raspberry, tar, iron and mocha, with just enough acidity to maintain its shape. The rich, sweet tannins reach the front teeth. The crop level was a rather low 32 hectoliters per hectare following a saignee, according to owner Jonathan Maltus, who also makes Teyssier and Le Dome.HK$4,625.00 -

(old-vines merlot with a bit of cabernet franc): Bright, deep ruby-red. Blackcurrant, blackberry, licorice, mocha and dark chocolate. Densely packed, sweet and deep, with noteworthy energy to the black fruit, mineral and bitter chocolate flavors. Still tightly coiled for a Right Bank 2009 for all its plushness of texture. The slowly building finish is concentrated and long.HK$8,735.00
