The 2014 Rocheyron is a soft, supple wine to drink now and over the next few years. Bright red cherry, anise and sweet floral notes, along with a touch of oak, add to the wine's inviting personality. There is plenty of depth to the dark, sumptuous flavors in this expressive Saint-Émilion.HK$3,805.00 -

The 2016 Rocheyron, from Peter Sisseck's property in Saint-Émilion, is unquestionably the best to date. The bouquet bursts from the glass with fresh blackberry and boysenberry fruit that is seamlessly integrated with the one-third new oak. The palate is framed by fine tannins and a superb line of acidity. There is plenty of crisp black fruit here, and the smooth, energetic finish leaves a crushed stone residue. If you couldn’t locate any Pingus this year, just come here.HK$1,785.00 -

The 2017 Rocheyron, owned by Pete Sisseck, offers ripe red cherry and cranberry fruit on the nose that does not quite have the delineation of the previous two vintages. The palate offers pretty dark cherry fruit laced with soy, a fine bead of acidity and whilst not a deep nor powerful Saint-Émilion, it has a finely tuned, truffle-tinged finish that lingers. Whilst not up to the level of the 2016, there is a panache already sewn into this wine.HK$1,830.00 -

The 2018 Rocheyron is a tasty Saint-Émilion that will be easy to drink with minimal cellaring. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather and licorice all open with a bit of coaxing. Rocheyron is a perfectly fine Saint-Émilion, but it is also not especially distinguished. Rocheyron is the joint project of Peter Sisseck and Silvio Denz.HK$1,670.00 -

Super complexity of bright fruit with bark, spice, orange peel and minerals. Medium to full body. Racy and fine tannins. Mushroom, cedar and black tea undertones. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes. Hard not to drink now but better in three to five years and will age beautifully.HK$1,670.00 -

This is an opulent, sexy, modern-style St. Emilion possessing deep, super-ripe black cherry and cassis fruit, smoke, and character in a medium-bodied, lush format. It tasted better from bottle than it did out of barrel. The finish is excellent, but with more length, it would have even jumped to the magical 90-point category. Some tannin is noticeable, but this wine is capable of lasting 12-14 years.HK$5,750.00 -

The 2019 Rol Valentin has turned out beautifully. Rich, ample and creamy, the 2019 is utterly beguiling from the first taste. Crushed raspberry, mint, spice, blood orange and mocha all build in the glass as this creamy, succulent Saint-Émilion shows off its curves and overall allure. The 2019 is even more impressive from bottle than it was from barrel.HK$2,420.00 -

The 2017 Saint-Georges is powerful and rough around the edges. Graphite, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and black cherry all open up in the glass, but there is no getting past the huge, hulking tannins in this somber, brooding Saint-Émilion. The 2017 is a very good wine, but I would like to know if this property is capable of more.HK$1,100.00 -

The 2020 Saint Georges (Côte Pavie) is fabulous. In fact, this is one of the finest vintages I can remember tasting. Inky dark fruit, gravel, spice, pomegranate and mocha all saturate the palate. The firm tannins typical of this wine are present, but the 2020 seems to have enough fruit density to provide at least a measure of balance. Clean mineral notes punctuate the mouthwatering finish.HK$3,000.00 -

The quality at this address has been on a steady upward trend, and the 2021 Château Saint Georges (Côte Pavie) is terrific, with classic Saint-Emilion minerality as well as notes of black cherries, framboise, and wildflowers. It's medium-bodied on the palate, has present yet ripe tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's clearly an outstanding wine, if not better. The blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.HK$2,195.00
