Jeb Dunnuck (92-94)The quality at this address has been on a steady upward trend, and the 2021 Château Saint Georges (Côte Pavie) is terrific, with classic Saint-Emilion minerality as well as notes of black cherries, framboise, and wildflowers. It's medium-bodied on the palate, has present yet ripe tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's clearly an outstanding wine, if not better. The blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. |

Wine Spectator (89-92)Bright and fresh, with a beam of raspberry compote and a judicious overlay of anise-infused toast. A twinge of plum skin on the finish gives this a slightly extracted feel. Solid. |

Decanter (94)Black chocolate, baked earth, liquorice root and silky smooth tannins greet you on the first attack of this wine. I've never found this the easiest to love of the Durantou range but it is strikingly successful in 2019. Silky and yet slatey in texture, this both eases you through the palate and pulls you up short, slowing things down. Sparks of fresh minerality accompany the pulsing blueberry and raspberry fruits, and the juicy finish makes this one to look out for. |

James Suckling (94-95)A gorgeous red with so much black fruit and salty, mineral character. It’s medium-to full-bodied with creamy, polished tannins and a long finish. The precision and fine texture is impressive. One of the best I have had for a while. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)The 2023 Saintayme turned out beautifully. Aromatic, gracious and super expressive, Saintayme is total sensuality. Sweet, perfumed floral notes and a touch of citrus lift a core of brilliant red-toned fruit. Notable brightness and tension suggest that 2023 will enjoy a very positive evolution for the next decade or so. |

Wine Advocate (93)From a special 7.5 acre parcel culled from the Bienfaisance vineyard, this 1,000-case cuvee is dominated by its Merlot component (the blend also includes some Cabernet Franc). As are most of St.-Emilion’s garigiste wines, it is given a Burgundian-like treatment of pre-fermentation cold maceration, malolactic in barrel, aging on its lees, and little clarification, all designed to accentuate the terroir, and enhance the wine’s texture and perfume. The stunningly perfumed 2005 offers up notions of toast, black cherry jam, blackberries, espresso roast, white chocolate, and juicy meat. It is full-bodied as well as opulent for the vintage, with a gorgeous texture, and a long, 35+ second finish. Consume it over the next 15 or more years. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96)An estate that has been firing on all cylinders recently, the Merlot-dominated 2016 Château Sansonnet sports a saturated ruby color as well as a beautiful bouquet of macerated black cherries, blackcurrants, smoked earth, spice, and tobacco. This ripe, sexy, full-bodied beauty has terrific overall balance, a layered texture, no hard edges, and a beautiful finish. It's a gem in the vintage and is well worth a case purchase. The blend is 90% Merlot and 5% each of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, all brought up in 80% new French oak. Don’t miss this brilliant wine. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)The 2017 Sansonnet is a fabulous wine. Ripe and unctuous - without being overdone - Sansonnet offers tons of character, but in the mid-weight style of the year, which is to say the 2017 is not quite as fleshy as readers have come to expect. Raspberry jam, wild flowers, mocha, mint and sweet spice are beautifully layered in the glass. Best of all, the 2017 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Tasted four times. |

Bordeaux | 2 | 96+ (JD) | HK$1,690.00
Jeb Dunnuck (96+)This estate has been on fire of late and that doesn't appear to have changed with the 2018 Château Sansonnet. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as a young, unevolved bouquet of pure crème de cassis, graphite, crushed violets, bouquet garni, chocolate, and distinct chalky minerality, it delivers remarkable purity, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and flawless balance. A wine that builds slowly with time in the glass, offering a beautiful mix of richness, elegance, and length, it's as good, if not even better than the 2016. Don't miss it! |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93-95)The 2021 Sansonnet is once again a stand out. Blackberry jam, crème de cassis, chocolate, new leather, licorice and espresso give this large-scaled Saint-Émilion tons of depth. As always, Sansonnet is an extrovert, but in 2021 it benefits from a kick of acidity that balances things out nicely. It was impressive both times I tasted it. |

James Suckling (95-96)Really pure fruit here with blackberries and boysenberries. Some spice like white pepper. Medium-bodied with tight and fine tannins, and a fresh and bright finish. Terrific potential. 95% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 2% cabernet sauvignon. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)The 2023 Sansonnet is a deep, powerful wine from the Lefévère family. Blackberry, chocolate, new leather, licorice and a kiss of sweet French oak inform a sumptuous Saint-Émilion that delivers on all counts. Extroverted and plush, Sansonnet is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. This is a terrific edition. |

Wine Advocate (91)This property is owned and managed by the Vauthier family of Château Ausone. The 2015 Simard is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. It sports a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is vibrantly scented of red currants, black cherries and warm plums with hints of violets and fragrant earth. Medium-bodied, very fine, fruity and elegant with ripe, fine-grained tannins and wonderful freshness, it finishes with a red cherry lift. |

Bordeaux | 10 | 91 (VN (NM)) | HK$2,125.00
Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2016 Simard has a lively and – as I noted from barrel – quite Burgundy-like bouquet, more Morey-Saint-Denis than Chambolle-Musigny. The medium-bodied palate is rounded and generous, offering plush, lightly spiced black fruit and a touch of truffle on the finish. Very fine. |

Jeb Dunnuck (92)The 2015 Château Soutard shows plenty of oak, yet offers ample crème de cassis, toasted spice, raspberry jam and licorice aromatics. Medium-bodied, supple and polished on the palate, with ripe tannin, tons of charming fruit, and sweet tannin, it's a ripe, sexy wine that also has rock solid elegance and purity. |

Bordeaux | 8 | 91 (VN (AG)) | HK$2,600.00
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (91)The 2016 Soutard is a pretty wine with lovely freshness and energy. Blood orange and floral notes lift the red berry fruit nicely. Although attractive, the 2016 feels a bit narrow in construction. It would be nice to see a little more meat on the bones. |
