Juicy and vivid, with lots of raspberry, cassis and blackberry fruit woven with a perfumy black tea note. There's plenty of grip on the back end, but this is lush and has melded nicely already. Score range: 90-93HK$5,055.00 -
(1x75cl) 2014Vinous - Antonio Galloni (91)
The 2014 Moulin Riche is a very pretty wine from the sister estate of the Cuvelier family, who also own Leoville-Poyferre. Medium in body, with good underlying structure, the 2014 offers notable complexity and nuance. Smoke, tobacco, licorice and a host of dark-fleshed fruit notes confer a measure of gravitas. The blend is 53 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 27 % Merlot and 20 % Petit Verdot.HK$980.00 -
(1x300cl) 2016Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92+)
In 2016 Moulin Riche is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, vibrant and full of energy, the 2016 is impressive today. The wine appears to have shed some baby fat and gained in aromatic complexity over the last two years. Sweet red-toned fruit, rose petal, mint and chalk lend understatement to the classy, mid-weight Saint-Julien. The 2016 was bottled at the end of May (earlier than many other Left Bank wines) and might be entering a period of closure. Still, I find a lot to admire.HK$1,690.00 -

The supple, juicy style offers quite a bit of immediacy. The blend is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.HK$3,785.00 -

The 2018 Moulin Riche is a dark, sensual beauty. Blackberry, chocolate, spice, new leather and menthol all meld together effortlessly. Time in the glass brings out pretty floral overtones along with redder tonalities of fruit. This is an especially unctuous, racy style. There is no arguing with the wine's balance or sheer appeal. The 2018 can be enjoyed now and for another 15 years or so, maybe more.HK$3,640.00 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (90)
The 2020 Moulin Riche is quite backward on the nose, dark berry fruit, black tea and brown spices gradually unfurling with aeration. The palate is rounded on the entry, lightly spiced with white pepper and touches of fennel. This gains depth in the glass as it responds to aeration with just a little chewiness towards the finish that should soften with bottle age.HK$1,900.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (91-93)
The 2021 Moulin Riche is a dark, racy Saint-Julien. Black cherry, plum, spice, new leather, tobacco, menthol and licorice are all dialed up in a generous, inviting 2021 that has much to offer. There's lovely upfront intensity here. I would prefer to drink this succulent, yet mid-weight Saint-Julien over the next decade or so.HK$1,775.00 -

The 2022 Château Moulin Riche is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon yet includes 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. This deep purple-hued effort offers gorgeous darker currants and plum fruits intermixed with smoky tobacco, graphite, and chocolaty notes. I love its overall balance, and it's a classic, deep, rich, full-bodied 2022 with a round, layered mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish.HK$1,785.00 -

The 2019 Pavillon de Léoville-Poyferré is fabulous. Rich, sensual and inviting, the Pavillon wraps around the palate with soft curves, silky tannins and exceptional balance. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this wine. And why wait? The 2019 is primed to deliver immense pleasure today. Bright red-toned fruit and lifted floral notes linger on the soft, caressing finish. Since 2019, the Pavillon has been a true second wine of Léoville-Poyferré, whereas in the past it was the second wine of both Léoville-Poyferré and Moulin Riche.HK$2,145.00 -

Ripe currants, cassis, graphite, leafy herbs, and smoky notes all emerge from the 2022 Pavillon De Léoville Poyferré, a full-bodied, rich, layered mouth-filling second wine that has ripe tannins, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. Based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, coming primarily from younger vines, it should keep nicely through 2042.HK$1,520.00 -
Pavillon du Glana 2021 exemplifies the pinnacle of Château Glana's vinicultural mastery in the esteemed Loire Valley.
