The 2020 La Dominique is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Dark and sumptuous in the glass, the 2020 is racy and wonderfully sleek right out of the gate. Dark cherry, gravel, spice, dried flowers and espresso lend shades of darkness to this deep, wonderfully plush La Dominique. Superb.HK$1,690.00 -

The 2022 Château La Dominique might be the finest I've tasted from this estate. Located in the northern part of Saint-Emilion, not far from Cheval Blanc as well as the Pomerol border, with plenty of clay in the soils, it's based on 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, raised in 50% new barrels. Gorgeous darker currant and black cherry fruit, chocolate, leafy herbs, and a Pomerol-like damp earth character all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has incredible purity, silky tannins, and a great finish. It's a gorgeously textured, seamless, balanced Saint-Emilion that already offers pleasure yet has a solid two decades of prime drinking ahead of it. Bravo.HK$4,160.00 -

Sleek ruby red, well judged extraction and use of oak, this is a great quality La Dominique, continuing a run of enjoyable vintages at this property under the team of Gwendeline Lucas and winemaker Yann Monties. Plenty of estate and appellation signature, sweet damson, black cherry, pomegranate and stone fruits, campfire smoke, clove spice and juicy lift, with a lingering, mouthwatering finish. Julien Viaud consultant. Tasted twice. 49hl/h yield. Harvest September 6 to 28, subdividing plots, including leaving the beginning and the ends of the rows for later harvesting. Aged in a mix of amphoras, wine globes, concrete eggs, 50% new oak.HK$2,100.00 -

This delicious, fruit-forward, exuberant St.-Emilion is meant to be drunk in the next 5-7 years. Attractive, elegant, round and well-made, it offers copious notes of cherries, plums and dark fruits.HK$2,325.00 -

Solidly made, this deep ruby/plum-colored 2012 (92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc) offers up black cherry and cassis fruit, not a lot of complexity, a generous, juicy mouthful of wine. It is medium-bodied, cleanly made and best drunk over the net 8-10 years.HK$2,070.00 -
Wine Advocate (78-80)
This wine is light, pleasant and fruity, but diluted. Drink it up over the near-term. La Fleur has been on a qualitative tier of late, but the 2013 is certainly not in that category.HK$2,345.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (86-89)
The 2014 La Fleur is deep, dense and authoritative in style. A host of black cherries, smoke, mocha, licorice, violets and plums blossom as this pliant, expressive wine shows off its bold personality. Today the tannins are quite overpowering. It will be interesting to see if the 2014 develops a bit better balance in bottle.HK$2,515.00 -

The 2015 La Fleur is forward, open-knit and quite attractive. Hints of cedar, tobacco, mint and dried flowers add aromatic lift and nuance to a core of dark red plum Merlot fruit in this pretty, midweight Saint-Émilion. The 2015 is not super-complex, but it is impeccably balanced. Drink it over the next decade or so.HK$2,505.00 -

The 2016 La Fleur is racy and super-ripe, with elevated alcohol, hard tannins and oxidative notes that make it hard to find much pleasure. I expected more from this Saint-Émilion.HK$3,085.00 -

The 2018 La Fleur (Dassault) is racy and sumptuous to the core. Inky red/purplish berry fruit, rose petal, sweet spice and mint are all laced together. This luscious, creamy Saint-Émilion has plenty to offer. Fine tannins support a finish of real substance and persistence.HK$3,010.00 -

Wine Advocate (91)
At present, this estate is the reference point for high quality wines from Lalande de Pomerol. The basic cuvee from proprietor Hubert de Bouard and his wife Corinne, the 2006 La Fleur de Bouard is composed of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Sensationally rich, with abundant quantities of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, graphite, licorice, and hints of espresso roast as well as toasty oak, it is supple enough to be drunk now, or cellared for a decade.HK$4,495.00 -

(85% merlot, 12% cabernet franc and 3% cabernet sauvignon): Inky purple. Deep aromas of cassis, cocoa, violet and vanilla. Smooth, rich and dense; with lovely precision to the floral and cocoa flavors. Finishes smooth, with a persistent blackberry note and captivating juiciness. Finishes with copious, mounting tannins but remains smooth and balanced on the long, creamy finish. Excellent.HK$2,800.00 -

The 2016 La Fleur de Boüard is gorgeous. Sweet, floral notes lift the red berry fruit in this gracious, mid-weight wine. Raspberry, wild flowers, mocha, spice and mint all run through this lithe, silky wine. The 2016 possesses notable silkiness, nuance and finesse. This is a terrific showing.HK$1,055.00 -

The 2018 La Fleur de Boüard is very well defined on the nose, gorgeous scents of blackberry, blueberry, violet and potpourri bursting from the glass but retaining fine delineation and focus. The palate is crisp on the entry, with graphite-tinged black fruit framed by fine tannins and a structured, tensile finish. This is one of the best La Fleur de Boüard vintages that I have encountered. Excellent.HK$2,335.00 -
