The 2020 Branas Grand Poujeaux has a fresh and focused bouquet with blackberry, briary, bay leaf and hints of pressed iris flower. The oak is very nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-delineated tannins, lightly spiced with ample depth and grip. Lovely black fruit here and impressive tension on the finish. Bon vin.HK$825.00 -

Vinous - Neal Martin (91-93)
The 2021 Branas Grand Poujeaux was picked from September 29 to October 13 at 38hL/ha and includes some whole-cluster addition; it was matured in 50% new oak. The well-defined bouquet features blackberry, raspberry, white pepper and a hint of undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy entry and gentle grip, the whole bunch working well here, and quite saline on the finish. Excellent.HK$1,120.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)
The 2023 Branas Grand Poujeaux is a rich, exuberant Moulis-en-Médoc. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, chocolate, new leather, licorice, mocha and lavender are front and center. Bold, plush and sumptuous to the core, Branas Grand Poujeaux is a total delight.HK$1,205.00 -

(12x75cl) 1998Vinous - Neal Martin (90)
The 1998 Brane-Cantenac is a vintage that has been a little variable from bottle to bottle over the years. I am taken by the well-defined, taut and focused nose, where vigorous blackberry and cedar aromas commingle with sous-bois and tobacco. The palate is clean and fresh with gentle grip and rounded, slightly suppler tannins than previous vintages. Sour cherry, rooibos and bay leaf linger on the finish with white pepper on the aftertaste. This is definitely one of the best bottles that I have encountered. Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château in September 2025.HK$10,220.00 -

Wine Advocate (93)
The 2000 Brane-Cantenac is a blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. It has a really wonderful bouquet that is coming into its own: potent with black truffle and gravel infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline tang on the entry. It is not a powerful or huge wine, but there is impressive length here and genuine complexity on the finish, with black truffle, cedar and tobacco notes vying for attention. Henri Lurton oversaw a really quite fabulous, almost aristocratic Brane-Cantenac in this millennial year. Tasted April 2015.HK$12,125.00 -

92-94 A stunning wine from this Lurton-owned estate. Pure black fruits give sweetness, richness and a long-lasting aftertaste. One of the best wines from the Margaux appellation.HK$745.00 -

Solid wine, dark, firm and powerful. The black currant fruits shear through the tannic texture, giving a wine that is juicy, fresh, structured and definitely for aging.HK$3,795.00 -

The years when Brane was starting to really come sharply into focus, and this is easily one of the best 2009s in the Margaux appellation, and great value in comparison to some of the biggest names. One for serious Bordeaux lovers, just super competent and impressive winemaking. You get pretty much 90% of what you need to know on the aromatics alone, concentrated cassis, a ton of depth, with fruit, acidity and tannins all perfectly in balance, so juicy and drinkable, concentrated and enjoyable. Decades ahead of it. 70% new oak for ageing, harvest September 22 to October 9.HK$9,445.00 -

This is a complete wine, full of both tannins and great swathes of ripe fruit. It has a serious side as well in its solid structure and concentration. The juicy blackberry fruits are beginning to calm down and meld into a fine dense wine that will age very well. Drink from 2025.HK$6,155.00 -

Full sweet spot Brane Cantenac, not tasting quite as luscious as during the recent vertical at the estate, with the austerity more evident in the tannins, but come on, this is still hard to argue with, full of character and sap and vivid life, cocoa bean, brambled autumnal fruit, cola, crushed rocks and crayons. 70% new oak barrels. While the wood flavors are palpable in this wine, so are the firm tannins and dense black fruit. These elements suggest a wine that will have power and great concentration while also generous blackberry fruits. Drink from 2024.HK$4,790.00 -

What strikes me about this Brane-Cantenac is the gorgeous center palate of ripe fruit, which gives an impression of generosity, yet it’s tight and reserved at the same time. Fine and polished tannins follow on and drive this gorgeous fruit.HK$2,385.00 -

(12x75cl) 2019Wine Advocate (97)
Derived exclusively from the château's holdings on the deep gravel soils of the plateau of Brane, the 2019 Brane-Cantenac has turned out brilliantly and merits a special effort to seek out. Wafting from the glass with aromas of wild berries, pencil shavings, violets, sweet loamy soil and cardamon, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with lively acids, ripe tannins and a beautifully seamless, perfumed profile. Retaining all the estate's signature elegance but with an extra dimension of depth and intensity, it's the finest Brane-Cantenac of the modern era and one of the great successes of the 2019 vintage.HK$6,455.00 -
