Wine Advocate (93-95+)The 2017 Musigny Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with captivating aromas of dried flowers, rose petal, violets and raspberries that mingle with deeper bass notes of espresso roast and raw cocoa. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny and extremely elegant, with terrific depth, concentration and amplitude, framed by rich but powdery tannins and concluding with a beautifully fragrant finish. Unsurprisingly, this is likely the red wine of the vintage chez Drouhin. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (98)(5-Star Wine) The star wine of the event. Glowing purple in colour, the 2018 Drouhin Musigny is magical in all its dimensions, without any suggestion of being a blockbuster. The fruit is superbly sensual while maintaining its gracefulness, and the tannins are exceptionally fine grained. The acidity is also beautifully integrated and the persistence stands out. What more to say? |

Vinous (96-98)The 2019 Musigny Grand Cru contains 40% whole bunch. It has a beguiling bouquet of haunting delineation, featuring very pure black fruit mixed with truffle and light Earl Grey aromas. The palate is exquisitely balanced, hints of allspice and clove infusing the black fruit. A touch of dark chocolate emerges toward the very persistent finish, which fans out just as you would expect from a Musigny. Effortless. |

Vinous (97)The 2020 Musigny Grand Cru is intense and focused on the nose with red berry fruit, undergrowth, plenty of wilted violets coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins that frame very pure, red berry fruit, a touch of sappiness as it fans out and deepens on the finish. There is something majestic about this Musigny, and the finish is extraordinarily long. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (96-98)The 2022 Musigny Grand Cru underwent two pickings, August 27 for the declassified younger vines, and September 5. It has a well-defined bouquet with touches of undergrowth infusing the brambly red fruit, graphite and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, and vibrant with svelte tannins, fine acidity, and an elegant finish. This very refined Musigny will improve with bottle age. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96-99)5 Star Wine. A huge density of ruby crimson colour with a fruit that is utterly majestic and totally true to Musigny. The glorious dark raspberry fruit fills the middle palate in a way that the Amoureuses did not quite manage, and with an easily adequate structure of refined tannins. Such a velvet coating. This will stay in my mouth for as long as it takes to hurry on to my next appointment. Bravo! Drink from 2033-2045. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Burghound (93)This is also aromatically quite restrained but aggressive swirling reveals a lovely blend of spice elements that suffuse very ripe aromas of poached plum, cassis and violet. Once again there is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the attractively textured big-bodied flavors that terminate in a mocha and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that is noticeably warm. There is much to like here but the balance isn't quite as well dialed in as the best in the range. |

Burgundy | 1 | 91 (WA) | HK$161,830.00
Wine Advocate (91)The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes races out of the blocks on the nose, misbehaving like Lalou’s two dogs that are yapping around my ankles. Then it clams down with aeration, achieving more delineation and focus but still constituting one of the more exotic bouquets in this line-up. The palate is sweet in the mouth, corpulent and rounded, you could say almost nubile. Lavish, plush and caressing, this voluptuous Chambolle is one for those who prefer a more hedonistic style of Pinot?and why not. |

Vinous (93-96)Deep, saturated ruby. Explosive nose features blackberry, blood orange, minerals and violet. An extremely intense, minerally wine of great clarity and class. Powerfully structured and still an infant. Finishes with big but suave tannins and great subtle persistence. |

Burgundy | 1 | 95+ (VN) | HK$503,735.00
Vinous (95+)Deep, sappy aromas of plum, currant, minerals and smoke, with a compelling earthy complexity. Thick on entry, then youthfully backward and vibrant in the middle palate. A seamless wine that remains light on its feet despite its compelling density and major volume. Finishes with sweet tannins, a note of spicy oak and outstanding persistence. |

Burgundy | 1 | 94+ (VN) | HK$494,755.00
Vinous (94+)Bright, deep red. Musky, slightly reduced aromas of raspberry and minerals. Offers a compellingly silky texture and lovely sweetness but comes across as youthfully closed today, even a bit reduced. But this boasts superb concentration and purity of flavor and a very long, harmonious finish. I'd give this a good eight to ten years in the cellar. |

Decanter (98)Still very, very closed. Fat, rich and concentrated on the nose. Very lovely, balanced, fragrant fruit. This is very complex and the finish is excellent. |

Burgundy | 1 | 96-99 (VN) | HK$29,850.00
Vinous (96-99)Healthy dark red. Knockout pungent aromas and flavors of pomegranate, red raspberry, blood orange and high-pitched spices, with the 33% whole-cluster treatment contributing an element of peppery lift. Boasts a nobly fine-grained texture but it's hard to describe this wine as silky owing to its almost painful penetration on the palate. Great éclat and precision here. Finishes with incredible tactile breadth and cut, the wine's rising, palate-saturating flavors of red berries, spices, flowers and minerals blowing past its firm but utterly refined tannins. This dazzling Musigny already displays incredibly heady, complex perfume but will need a decade or more to approach its apogee in bottle. |

Burgundy | 1 | 93-96 (VN (ST)) | HK$19,930.00
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (93-96)(13.8% alcohol) Full, deep ruby-red. Great liqueur-like richness on the nose, with complex notes of blackberry, blueberry, roasted herbs, minerals, coffee and earth. Superconcentrated and explosively deep, with wonderfully sweet yet firmly delineated flavors of black fruits and minerals. Knockout finish features extraordinary persistence, with a firmness belying the wine's very low (2.7 grams per liter) acidity. The wine's extraordinarily fine-grained texture resembles that of the Musigny and Amoureuses. Lardiere says this has a very high 30 grams per liter of dry extract, vs. 26 to 29 for most of the rest of these 2003s. Lardiere compared this wine to the '85 Bonnes-Mares, but this may be even richer. |

Burgundy | 1 | 96+ (VN) | HK$20,090.00
Vinous (96+)Good bright, full red. Brooding aromas of medicinal blueberry and menthol lifted by brilliant high notes of rose petal, mace and minerals. Compellingly deep and young, even youthfully imploded today, but this already boasts brilliant detail and energy and an exhilarating high pitch. Penetrating, powerful blue fruits, graphite, flowers and minerals stain the palate with flavor and will not quit. A great Bonnes-Mares for the Musigny lover. Should gain in bottle for two decades and go on for another two. |

Burgundy | 1 | 95 (WA) | HK$14,235.00
Wine Advocate (95)The 2009 Bonnes-Mares is another wine that is showing very little of its potential today. Black cherries, cassis, licorice, graphite and spices are some of the many notes that emerge from this powerful, super-intense Burgundy. The finish turns implosive and incredibly mineral. This, too, should be a jewel when it awakens from its current state of dormancy. The 2009 is at once sensual yet powerful. In other words, it captures the nuance, complexity and pedigree of this site to the maximum. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. |

Burgundy | 1 | 93 (VN) | HK$8,420.00
Vinous (93)The 2011 Bonnes-Mares is quite attractive and unusually seductive, with less of the structure typical of this site, but a level of transparency that is incredibly intriguing. This is a remarkably polished, feminine Bonnes-Mares with great aromatic lift, lovely definition in its bright fruit and notable overall balance. The finish is persistent and nicely delineated. |
