  • Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos du Fonteny 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (92-94)

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos du Fonteny, a monopole of the domaine, has a beautiful bouquet with dark berry fruit, blackberry and light orange blossom scents. This just blossoms with a couple of swirls, displaying impressive vigor while maintaining detail. The palate is stunning: wonderful focus, so much tension and you can really feel the calcaire on the tensile finish. This represents an outstanding offering from Bruno and it comes highly recommended.

  • Camille Giroud Chambertin Grand Cru 2018 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru is more backward on the nose than Rossignol-Trapet’s Chambertin tasting blind alongside, the fruit is high-toned and darker, whilst the oak is a little more prominent. It loses a bit of finesse and complexity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, lightly spiced, quite muscular in style with a flattering finish. Yet, it lacks the effortlessness of the finest Chambertins in this vintage and there is just a slight sour aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

  • Camille Giroud Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95-97)

The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is very well-defined and focused on the nose, mineral-rich black fruit, sous-bois and cedar emerging with time, conveying a sense of effortlessness. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, an almost symmetrical balance with a poised, pixelated finish. This is an outstanding Chambertin that will age with style. • Claude Dugat La Gibryotte Gevrey-Chambertin 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (91)

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages is superb, unfurling in the glass with a youthful bouquet of sweet cassis, wild berries and peony that mingles with subtle hints of candied peel, grilled meat and rich forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and velvety, structured around a chassis of fine-grained tannins that will demand some bottle age, underpinned by bright acids and concluding with a strikingly fragrant finish. It's a beautiful wine that exemplifies the fragrant, precise style that Bertrand Dugat and his siblings are coaxing from their family's enviable patrimony of old and meticulously farmed vines.

Moderately saturated ruby-red. Blackberry, cassis and menthol aromas are lifted by a mineral element. Juicy, saline and youthfully tight, even a bit clenched, but with harmonious bright acidity giving verve to the wine's dark berry flavors. Serious building tannins saturate the entire palate on the rather suave, fine-grained finish.

  • Coquard Loison Fleurot Gevrey-Chambertin 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (88-90)

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages also comes from three vineyards and is matured in one-third new oak. This has an impressive bouquet like the Morey-Saint-Denis, with delineated red berry fruit and fine mineralité considering this is only a village cru. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and well-judged acidity, dipping a little toward the finish but still equipped with fine detail and precision. Excellent, albeit maybe earlier drinking than the Morey-Saint-Denis.

    Wine Advocate (95-97)

Matured entirely in new oak, the 2013 Chambertin Grand Cru has a beguiling, elegant bouquet that is beautifully defined with superb mineralité coming through with aeration. Nothing flamboyant, nothing overstated here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, very harmonious, with a svelte texture and it positively glides toward the pure sorbet-like finish. The small number of owners will be glad they have some of this nectar - for me, one of the wines of the vintage.

  • Denis Mortet Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 (1x75cl)

    Tim Atkin MW (98)

This is one of those wines that just goes for it. It's other worldly. It is made entirely with Arnaud's twist on whole clusters: vendange enti re d coup e, or whole cluster with the stem cut out by hand. As with many things, it sounds "prettier" in French! It also sees 100% new oak. Layered in aromas and flavors, there are leather scents, exotic spices, field strawberries and more. There's a bit of woodsy grip, too, and the tannins definitely are firmer than the Bonnes Mares. The solid fruit core and elegant, lingering finish suggest that this has at least a few decades in it. 2025-45
