Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées also put in a superb performance, unfurling in the glass with an attractive bouquet of ripe red berries, incense and candied peel, framed by a touch of light reduction that segues into sapid bass notes of smoked duck. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, lavish and multidimensional, with supple tannins, a dramatic core of fruit and succulent underlying acids. This is a very promising Brûlées from Domaine d'Eugénie.HK$2,355.00 -
(12x75cl) 2010Vinous (89)
(bottled in December of 2011): Medium red. Reticent nose hints at red berries, licorice and mint. Then sweet and surprisingly supple on the palate, but with excellent spine to its flavors of red fruits, licorice, minerals salts and smoky oak. Nicely balanced village wine with an echoing finish--and more density than the 2011.HK$11,680.00 -
(6x75cl) 2014Vinous (87)
(20% new oak; all destemmed): Pretty, light red. Slightly reduced aromas of cranberry and boysenberry. Juicy and firm-edged, showing a slight musky reduction but good tension to its rather light red berry flavors. More salty than fruity today, finishing with a light touch and hints of leather and game.HK$6,520.00 -
(6x75cl) 2016Vinous (88-90)
(fully destemmed; 30% new oak): Healthy bright red. Inviting floral lift to the aromas of raspberry and spicy oak. Juicy, fresh, nicely delineated flavors of raspberry, strawberry and spices. Finishes with sappy, fine-grained tannins and noteworthy length. This village wine boasts very good energy without any stem influence.HK$9,445.00 -

The 2017 Echézeaux En Orveau comes from a cool microclimate, the last before you reach Musigny, though here the vines face south rather than east on shallow soils. This has a pleasant bouquet, initially quite bashful but gaining intensity in the glass, with crushed stone infusing the dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, offering sappy red berry fruit, orange peel and a touch of marmalade, and quite grippy toward the back palate. A touch of allspice features on the aftertaste. This should drink nicely over the next two decades. A well-crafted, burly Echézeaux.HK$8,560.00 -

(12x75cl) 1996Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (91-95)
Deep ruby-red. Stubbornly backward, smoky nose. Firm, tight, and wrapped up in its own structure today. Showing less texture today than the Mazis. But spicy and sharply delineated. Finishes with superb length and a firm tannic spine. This will require a good eight to ten years of cellaring. From grapes harvested on October 4, with 12.6% potential alcohol.HK$35,355.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (93-95)
Bright full ruby-red. Explosive nose combines cherry, raspberry, minerals, flowers and game; at once expressive and cool. Fat, thick and stuffed with fruit; offers an uncanny combination of sheer volume and texture and great elegance. Finishes with extremely suave tannins and great resounding length and sweetness. This may turn out to be as strong as the outstanding '98.HK$40,830.00 -
(12x75cl) 2000Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-92)
Medium red. Highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, rose petal, violet and minerals. Complex, classy and pure, with a lovely combination of fruits, minerals and flowers. A bright, pristine wine with silky sweetness. Finishes very long, with round, thoroughly enrobed tannins. Has the spine to develop slowly in bottle.HK$58,695.00 -
(12x75cl) 2001Vinous (91-94)
Deep, bright red. Subtle, soil-inflected aromas of raspberry, minerals, tobacco and rose petal. Lush, thick and fat, with compelling flavors of musky, sappy berries. The silkiest of these young 2001s today. Finishes with chewy but very smooth tannins and slow-mounting, palate-saturating flavor.HK$33,590.00 -
Vinous (91+)
Medium red. Sappy, youthfully medicinal flavors of raspberry and black cherry; slightly reduced. Concentrated and powerful but a bit musclebound today, finishing with a tannic toughness. But this has terrific energy and noteworthy length. I'd sock it away for a decade.HK$10,835.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (93-95)
Saturated dark red. Knockout nose combines liqueur-like raspberry, coffee, smoke, licorice and brown spices. Tightly coiled and powerful, conveying an impression of energy but at the same time sweeter and more harmonious than the Mazis. Perhaps best today on the extremely long, palate-staining finish, which features an almost electric impression of precision and complex suggestions of minerals, coffee and spices. Hervet describes 2007 as a vintage that offers great transparency of terroir, and this wine could serve as Exhibit A.HK$24,130.00 -
(12x75cl) 2008Vinous (93+)
Medium red. Multidimensional nose offers red fruits, menthol, smoked ham and wild herbs. Silky and tactile but classically dry. This showy, glyceral wine comes across as almost weightless, thanks to a powerful impression of smoky minerality. With aeration this very long and savory wine showed a compelling deep sweetness. But I wouldn't go near a bottle for at least eight years.HK$34,660.00 -
Vinous (94+)
Medium red. Highly nuanced yet quite primary on the nose, offering scents of raspberry, underbrush, dried rose, ginger and smoky oak. Juicy, saline and quite dry, with dark berry and strawberry flavors complicated by an earthy perfume. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and excellent length. With 24 hours in the recorked bottle, this beauty showed a silkier texture and chewy, deep flavors of raspberry and spices that saturate the palate without leaving any impression of weight. A great effort for the vintage.HK$14,550.00 -

Bright medium red. Deep, musky nose combines cranberry, raspberry, cardamom, faded rose and crushed stone. Sweet, seamless and energetic, offering almost painful cut to the tart red berry, spice and musky underbrush flavors. Outstanding savory lift in the middle palate. Wonderfully lightness of touch here. Very backward wine with all the Cos de Bèze food groups: red fruits, minerals, spices, flowers, crushed stone. Stains the palate and leaves the taste buds quivering on the very long, firm finish. But still a baby today and in need of a decade of cellaring.HK$9,085.00 -
