(1x75cl) 2018Vinous (90-92)
The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Goulots 1er Cru has a very ripe bouquet that flirts with sur-maturité; hints of dates and fig can be glimpsed among the blue and red fruit. I would like to see more composure here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and ripe, a little heady in style but retaining decent balance and freshness toward the finish. Not bad, although I have tasted better vintages in the past.HK$1,710.00 -

(6x75cl) 2022Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux 1er Cru has impressive transparency on the nose, crushed stone infusing red berry fruit, and touches of pressed rose petals. The palate is refined and elegant, a bit (dare I say) in the mold of Rousseau. It is quite linear toward the finish that lingers in the mouth. It just needs a bit more sustain on the finish; otherwise, it's very fine.HK$8,630.00 -

(6x75cl) 2010Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-93)
Good bright, deep red. Raspberry and red cherry fruit aromas are lifted by a floral element and nicely complemented by truffley underbrush. Tighter and higher-pitched than the Aux Echezeaux and less sweet today, but boasts excellent flesh and a tactile impression of energy. Very tightly coiled. Should make a stunning village wine. From the north side of Gevrey (Les Champerrieres); both these vines and those in Aux Echezeaux were planted in 1928.HK$9,090.00 -

Mid ruby. Delicately scented. Gentle, fresh and very very fine but present tannins. Both charming and energetic as well as persistent.HK$7,990.00 -
(6x75cl) 2013Wine Advocate (91-93)
The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, the oldest vines planted back in 1929, has a crisp, slightly leafy bouquet with a light marine influence developing in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, crisp acidity and plenty of dark berry fruit toward the piquant finish. Don't overlook this offering from Jean-Marie Fourrier, because it ranks easily alongside his Premier Crus.HK$6,515.00 -
Vinous (91)
Moderately saturated medium red. Complex nose melds strawberry, flowers, game and mocha. Deeper than the Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon; brisk, salty and concentrated, offering considerable personality and sex appeal. This very sappy village wine shows excellent clarity and length, finishing with harmonious tannins.HK$9,495.00 -

An attractive bouquet of plums, cassis and earthy forest floor introduces the 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine, with melting tannins, tangy acids and good concentration, concluding with a long finish. Elegant and pure, it exemplifies Fourrier's style.HK$1,290.00 -

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is showing beautifully in bottle, unwinding in the glass with scents of red cherries, raspberries, licorice, sweet soil tones and candied peel. Medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, this Gevrey displays fine depth and concentration, its ample core of fruit underpinned by ripe, powdery tannins and lively acids.HK$13,675.00 -

Burghound (90-92)
(from six different lieux-dits). This too is notably ripe but fresh with a brooding nose of various wild dark berries, warm earth and pretty floral nuances. There is again excellent energy and tension to the intense, precise and muscular flavors that display outstanding complexity and sneaky good length. This offers unusually good quality for a Gevrey villages plus it is a wine that should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring. (90-92)/2027+HK$1,340.00 -

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers a mixture of red and black fruit laced with blood orange and quince, nicely focused with a sense of energy developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit. Fine acidity, just slightly confit-like towards the finish that erodes a little of the precision compared to other cuvées, though there is satisfying length.HK$6,685.00 -

Outstanding. An ultra-fresh and cool nose freely offers up its combination of both red and dark wild berries, plum and plenty of underbrush wisps. The delicious and vibrant middleweight flavors possess a lovely texture that carries over to the balanced, youthfully austere and moderately firm finale. While this could benefit from having more depth, that should reasonably come in time.HK$1,255.00 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)
Bright crimson, fresh red fruit with precision, and length, over and above the Bourgogne. Really smart harmonious wine with good length, the little red fruits staying in the mouth. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.HK$5,195.00 -

Good full red. Reticent aromas of black cherry and licorice. Dense and lusher than the CSJ but showing less inner-mouth perfume and lift today. In fact, this is quite clenched and hard to taste. Impressively thick for the vintage, and elegant in spite of its size. But this powerful Griottes will need at least a decade of bottle aging (especially so now that Fourrier seals his corks with wax). The tannins are broad and serious but not hard.HK$5,470.00 -

The 2011 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru is blessed with a sublime bouquet of intense red currant, fresh strawberry and rose petal aromas that display exquisite delineation and positively blossoms in the glass. The palate has a satin-like entry underpinned by filigree tannins that render this Griotte feminine, elegant and graceful with fabulous focus. This is simply exquisite. Drink 2014-2030.HK$43,225.00
