(from a .30 ha parcel of 62+ year old vines that sit directly behind the cuverie). Once again there is enough wood to notice framing the bright aromas of wild red currant, newly turned earth and a similar humus nuance. There is a lovely sense tension suffusing the bigger-bodied and more muscular flavors that also flash evident minerality on the powerful, firm and very serious finish that is just a bit less austere than usual. (69+ year old vines located in Au Vell , En Champs, Les Marchais, Vignes Belle, Les Crais and Etelois). A slightly riper if otherwise similar nose introduces equally sleek, vibrant and delineated medium-bodied flavors possess better density and a lovely texture while displaying a refreshing salinity on the firm, serious and built-to-age finish. Boasts superb intensity and cut, and lovely acid spine, yet comes across as rather feminine in style thanks to its outstanding fruit. The sappy, highly perfumed finishing flavors spread out to saturate the palate. Serafin describes his 2010s as full bodied-wines that will need long aging.
