Jancis Robinson (16++)Cask sample. Sweet, slightly gamey nose. Lighter than the usual grand cru with quite marked acidity. It’s even a little bitter on the end. Not showing beautifully at this early stage. Chewy and without quite enough fruit weight to compensate. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (93-95)The 2022 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with dark plum, raspberry coulis, incense and light sous-bois scents. It takes quite a few swirls of the glass to get the aromas going. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured, assertive opening. The tannins are slightly chalky, lending this Corton-Pougets edginess/nerve. Fine mineralité towards the finish yet tightly wound and almost curmudgeonly in its nascent state, this Grand Cru will demand long-term agin |

Burgundy | 1 | 96-99 (VN) | HK$29,850.00
Vinous (96-99)Healthy dark red. Knockout pungent aromas and flavors of pomegranate, red raspberry, blood orange and high-pitched spices, with the 33% whole-cluster treatment contributing an element of peppery lift. Boasts a nobly fine-grained texture but it's hard to describe this wine as silky owing to its almost painful penetration on the palate. Great éclat and precision here. Finishes with incredible tactile breadth and cut, the wine's rising, palate-saturating flavors of red berries, spices, flowers and minerals blowing past its firm but utterly refined tannins. This dazzling Musigny already displays incredibly heady, complex perfume but will need a decade or more to approach its apogee in bottle. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Beaune Les Theurons 1er Cru has a much more introverted bouquet compared to the Grèves, with an attractive marine element, hints of kelp and shucked oyster shell percolating through the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity, lightly spiced with a detailed and quite peppery finish. Excellent. |

Jancis Robinson (17)Cask sample. Pale garnet. Slightly smudgy nose. Still quite chewy with fine tannins and marked but not excessive acidity. Needs time but should be a vigorous pleasurable drink eventually. |

Burgundy | 1 | 90 (VN) | HK$3,760.00
Vinous (90)Bright, moderately saturated medium red. Pure rose petal lift to the aromas of raspberry, menthol and spices. Rather plush and smooth in the context of the year but with surprising inner-mouth lift and smoky minerality to energize its red fruit and spice flavors. This fine-grained, savory, youthful wine finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and sneaky length and lift. |

Jancis Robinson (17)Cask sample. Weak rim on mid crimson. Nervy Chambolle nose with some ethereal quality. And then an extremely sweet palate. Solidly expressive with flattering fruit and a really very stunning nose. This could be a star. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)Fine deep crimson colour, the thicker style of a Morey-side Chambolle, both on the nose and the palate. Quite firm tannins, a fair acidity and a mixed dark fruit which returns behind. Sound, though some other wines offer more joy. Tasted: November 2021 |

Vinous (91-93)The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has a composed bouquet with brambly red fruit, orange rind, sous-bois and light tobacco scents. It's refined and focused. The palate is very well balanced with a welcome edginess on the entry. Quite a nervy Chambolle, and I appreciate that. Plenty of mineralité comes through on the finish. This is very enticing. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a cohesive, focused bouquet of intense red currant, wild strawberry and crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and slightly angular tannins that will be softened with time. I appreciate the energy and backbone of this Grand Cru. Excellent. |

Wine Advocate (94-96)One of the highlights of the portfolio is the 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru (Domaine Gagey), a lovely wine that bursts with aromas of rose petals, deep red fruits, sweet soil tones, raw cocoa and cinnamon. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with lively acids, considerable concentration and an ample endowment of fine-grained tannin. This will require and reward patience. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2019 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru demonstrates a little more amplitude than the Clos de la Roche because of the one-third stem addition. It is exquisitely defined, offering precise black fruit laced with melted tar and graphite notes, and wonderful focus. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins framing the judiciously spiced black fruit that segues into a very harmonious, grippy finish. This is one of Jadot’s best cuvées this vintage. |

Tim Atkin MW (96)Punchy red fruits sing on the nose: pomegranate seeds, fresh cranberries and kirsch. Fabulously pure fruits soak the full-bodied palate encased in suave tannins and fresh acidity. This is focused and chiselled with excellent terroir clarity. Woodsy spice and leather notes mingle with the long, fruit-filled finish. 2025-40 |

Vinous (90-92)The 2021 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a pastille-like purity on the nose with sensual red cherries, redcurrant and cranberry aromas all deftly entwined with the new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins. It's structured and bold, though it lacks the finesse that is implied by the bouquet. Solid, but a bit unwieldy at the moment. |
