Sappy and densely packed, conveying an almost chocolatey quality to its black cherry and dark raspberry fruit flavors. Lovely harmonious acidity and chewy but sweet palate-dusting tannins give this wine a solid structural underpinning. The yield here was below 20 hectoliters per hectare due to the frost. I would not be surprised if this wine surpassed the estate's 2015. |

The palate is medium-bodied with pretty red cherry and red plum fruit, coming across a little conservative toward the finish, but boy, does this meliorate with aeration! After a couple of hours it suddenly goes up through the gears, developing more precision and harmony than it had immediately after opening. My score reflects this Volnay in full flight. |

The palate is medium-bodied with a vibrant entry, veins of blood orange suffusing the bright red fruit with a slightly chalky textured finish. Very good tension throughout this Volnay that should give 15-20 years of drinking pleasure. |

The palate is medium-bodied but tight at the moment with grippy tannins, very pure, quite masculine and almost Pommard-like for a Volnay with a citrus-driven finish. Impressive, but it needs time. |
