(6x75cl) 2013Vinous (92+)
Healthy deep red. Very pure aromas of crushed dark berries, minerals and bitter chocolate. Juicy, tight and penetrating, conveying terrific energy and cut to its flavors of dark berries, licorice and herbs. Quite backward today, even austere, but built to age. Jean-Nicolas Méo does not normally vinify with stems but he made this wine with 10% whole clusters.HK$11,410.00 -
Vinous (90-93)
Bright, dark red. Slightly reduced aromas of cherry, iron, red licorice and dried flowers. Sappy and sweet on the palate, and much easier to taste today than the Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes despite its solid underlying structure. Finishes savory and lightly saline, with noteworthy subtle length.HK$13,190.00 -
Vinous (94-97)
Saturated, deep red-ruby. Blackberry and cassis aromas are complicated by coffee and a subtle floral character, with some sweet oak adding another dimension. Densely packed and sappy, with an urgent quality and superb lift to the crushed dark berry fruit. A wonderfully saline, soil-driven wine with outstanding inner-mouth tension. The extremely long, slowly mounting finishes features a serious tannic backbone and outstanding vibrancy. Built for a long evolution in bottle.HK$20,145.00 -

The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux has a really quite alluring, complex bouquet with broody dark cherry, blackberry leaf and cold wet stone aromas that are both detailed and intense. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, razor-sharp tannins that form a lattice around a core of red fruit. There is a pastille-like purity and an electrifying finish, whose current feels long in the mouth. This is very classy: a great Cros Parantoux, terroir shrugging off what the season threw in its way.HK$17,095.00 -
Vinous (93)
Pale bright yellow. Pear, apple and stone on the nose. Juicy and intense on the palate, showing lovely energy and minerality. A major step up in intensity and length from the Charmes, displaying lovely definition and a saline quality. Offers a rather refined texture, with its harmonious acidity well supported by flesh. Finishes with good lingering fruit and stone flavors.HK$1,205.00 -

A wine of grand cru depth and dimension even in this challenging vintage, the 2013 Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens delivers a reserved bouquet of sweet red fruits, spices, candied peel and subtle espresso roast. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with excellent concentration, satiny tannins and a long, chewy finish that's lent delineation by the wine's tangy acids. The only missing ingredient is time.HK$11,630.00 -
The esteemed Michel Gros hails from a lineage teeming with vineyard proprietors, crafting fine wines like the Michel Gros Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Brulees 2013. Perched on the slopes of Cote de Nuits in Bourgogne, the Vosne-Romanee vineyard à Brulées prides itself on mineral-rich, clay-limestone soils, offering a distinctive terroir that punctuates each sip. This esteemed varietal yields muscular tannins, a hallmark of Gros's winemaking prowess, and vivid red fruit profiles.
The 2013 vintage stands testament to Michel's deft weather management, retaining balance despite challenging climatic conditions. From hand-picked grapes to meticulous vinification and ageing in French oak barrels, it's an intimate process ensuring the integrity of texture and flavour layers. A charming encounter of dark cherries intertwined with exotic spice and compelling savoury notes, the Michel Gros Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Brulees 2013 beautifully amalgamates intensity with finesse.

Wine Advocate (90-91)
The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Clos des Réas, which like all Michel’s premier crus sees 50% new oak, has a slightly higher-toned bouquet compared with the Aux Brûlées: small dark cherries, cassis and iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasing, grainy texture. Here, the dense black fruit mask the structure underneath that gives this a Malconsorts personality. It does not have enormous length at the moment but it is nicely focused.HK$1,300.00 -

The 2013 Volnay Vendanges Selectionées comes from a selection of 50-year-old vines on more calcareous soils that tend to produce more "vin de garde" fruit than vines used for the Volnay Village. There was no 2012 produced by the domaine While it is adorned with similar scents as the Village, there is a greater sense of depth and intensity on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, more backbone than the Village Cru and a sense of symmetry toward the finish. Give this 5-6 years in bottle before broaching, and you will have a very serious Volnay on your hands.HK$830.00 -
Vinous (91-93)
(all Mazoyères, from vines planted in the mid-1950s): Saturated dark red. Enticing perfume of black fruits, rose petal and Asian spices. Packed with dark fruits and spices but distinctly muscular and backward in the early going. This highly concentrated wine finishes with a note of licorice and powerful tannic spine.HK$10,175.00 -
Vinous (94)
Deep red, the least ruby of these 2013s but still bright and dark. A hint of yeasty reduction to the aromas of musky black raspberry, dark chocolate and spicy underbrush. A wine of outstanding complexity and energy, with its dark berry fruit complicated by notes of iron and earth. Less thick than the Clos Saint-Denis but juicier. Finishes very long, with suave, seamless tannins.HK$10,045.00 -

The 2013 Bâtard Montrachet, Michel Niellon’s rarest cru (just two and a half barrels in 2013) was bottled at the beginning of September. It has an exotic, candied bouquet comparing it directly with the Chevalier-Montrachet with lush passion fruit and almond scents, all nigh irresistible. The palate is rounded and exotic in the mouth but not overbearing, armed with gorgeous orange peel, pineapple and lemon zest notes and then plenty of passion fruit toward the vibrant finish. This is holding nothing back, unlike the Chevalier-Montrachet, and it will be difficult to resist in its youth.HK$23,890.00 -

From five and half barrels, the 2013 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru has a clinical nose with wonderful delineation. It is teasingly aloof at first, distant with faint oyster shell and brine notes, but glimpses only. Then it opens the door ajar with limestone and dewy green apple scents. The palate is extremely well balanced with clearly much higher level of tension than the Premier Crus from Niellon. But it is strict and very linear, long but without the peacock’s tail that will develop with time in bottle. There is almost a Riesling-like poise here, a Chevalier to cellar away while you enjoy the more open Bâtard-Montrachet. Excellent.HK$25,275.00 -

Good bright, deep red. Complex, subtle aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and graphite minerality, plus some sexy oak tones. Ripe and silky, even plump for the year, but classically dry and light on its feet. Saturates the mouth and cheeks without leaving any impression of heaviness. At this point in my tasting, Marie-Christine Mugneret noted that these 2013s had been uncorked the previous evening. They are showing spectacularly now and I suspect they benefited dramatically from aeration. Finishes with very suave, even tannins and a suggestion of minty lift. Very classy juice.HK$7,970.00 -
