Vinous (94+)
Bright medium red. Knockout high-pitched aromas of red berries, peony and orange peel. Boasts compelling subtle density and sharp definition to its taut flavors of blackberry, violet, licorice, spices and minerals. In its juicy sappiness, this is like chewing on a ripe cherry. A classic Bonnes-Mares, offering superb volume without any undue weight. And an outstanding example of what phenolically ripe fruit could make in this cool vintage.HK$48,921.79 -

Black cherry aroma accented by pepper and spices. Supple and rich in the mouth, with a sappy peppery element leavening the wine's flesh. A distinctly rich style of Combottes, finishing with ripe, building tannins and excellent length. Roumier normally finds this cuvée less mineral than normal for Chambolle, and sometimes even heavy. But the vines clearly did well in the cool 2013 growing season.HK$7,280.00 -
Vinous (96)
Good full deep red. Great lift and perfume to the aromas of blueberry, minerals, lilac and white pepper. Silky and utterly seamless, but with terrific sappiness and finesse to the blackberry, floral, mineral and earth flavors. Sweeter today than the Ruchottes-Chambertin; delivers an uncanny combination of gracefulness and power. The extremely long, rising finish leaves the taste buds quivering with piquant soil-driven minerality and high-pitched flowers. A classic 2010 beauty.HK$44,565.00 -

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny les Cras has a very reticent, broody bouquet that does not want to come out to play. The palate is vibrant and focused with wonderful chalky tannins, citric acidity and a long, lightly spiced finish that fans out with vim and vigor. This should be very satisfying once in bottle, although I wager that it will deserve more cellaring than Roumier's other 2013s.HK$19,780.00 -

Bright light yellow. Strong oak in evidence in the form of high-toned curry spice. Musky and sweet; the richest to this point of these 2013s, but with healthy balancing acidity. The oak adds an element of texture and complexity without overwhelming the wine's stone fruit flavors. Finishes chewy yet light on its feet. Roulot did a bit of lees stirring in 2013 at the end of the fermentations but not afterwards.HK$12,215.00 -

Bright, bright yellow. Subtle aromas of orange oil, honey and vanillin oak. At once sweet, silky and energetic, with intense yellow fruit, saline and honey flavors supported by a strong mineral underpinning. Finishes with palate-saturating minerality and terrific length. Roulot told me that he used a new Damy barrel with a different toast and that it resulted in a rounder wine.HK$31,510.00 -

The 2013 Meursault Luchets has a wonderful chalky, limestone-scented bouquet that is very detailed and poised, perhaps more conservative than the Meix Chavaux but with laser-like precision. The palate is fresh and crisp with fine tension, quite saline in the mouth, gently building toward a very intense, almost Puligny-like finish. It does not quite have the length of the Meux Chavaux but there is real presence in the mouth.HK$26,545.00 -

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées has a more broody and introspective bouquet compared to the 2013 Malconsorts from Bichot, although it has its own virtues, bestowed with gorgeous dark plum and cranberry scents, again a touch of dried rose petal lending a kind of femininity. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red cherry and cranberry fruit, nicely structured with a fine line of acidity. There is a touch of chewiness on the finish although with age this will mellow and turn into a fine Vosne-Romanée. Tasted September 2016.HK$19,340.00 -
(12x75cl) 2013Vinous (93)
Medium straw-yellow. Musky aromas of peach, apricot and ginger; more soil-driven and less exotic than the village Puligny. Supple, silky and highly concentrated, offering extremely smooth flavors of stone fruits and flowers. An outstanding 2013 with a very long, pliant back end. Boillot describes this as the best wine of the cave in 2013. He allowed the wine to settle in cuve for two months, including a month following the fining, to de-stress the wine, bottling it last December.HK$18,790.00 -
Vinous (91)
(from four different ages of vines ranging from 40 to 90 years old; Boillot's Santenots comes from younger vines): Full medium red. Brooding aromas of blueberry, blackberry and menthol; lots of tiny millerandé berries here. Silky and saline on the palate; deeper than the Santenots but showing less sex appeal and early juiciness to its flavors of dark berries, spices and menthol. But this is chewier and more concentrated and a bit more important on the finish.HK$9,275.00 -
Vinous (90-92)
Bright, dark red. Reticent, rather wild aromas of dark cherry and underbrush. Energetic but backward; much tighter today than the village wine and more dominated by its structure. The wild quality carries through on the palate. Best today on the back end, where fine-grained tannins spread out to saturate the palate.HK$8,770.00 -

(12x75cl) 2013Vinous (92-94)
Bright red. Ripe, musky aromas of red berries, minerals and rust. Suave and creamy-sweet in the mouth, with an almost jammy ripeness but also very good framing acidity to the crunchy red berry flavors. Perhaps a bit youthfully disassociated at present, not to mention firmly tannic on the back end, yet this is easier to taste today than the Vaucrains owing to its sheer sex appeal. Offers superb potential.HK$12,585.00 -
