(12x75cl) 2016Vinous (89)
The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has an engaging bouquet with perfumed red fruit tinged with wet clay/undergrowth aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, quite elegant in the mouth with a tart red cherry finish that has gained some length since I tasted it from barrel. Very fine. Tasted at the Domaine.HK$9,335.00 -
Vinous (86-88)
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from vines up to 85 years old. It has a sensual bouquet of brambly red fruit, undergrowth and light truffle aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, moderate acidity and decent length. What is missing is a little tension and precision on the finish compared to other vintages.HK$2,630.00 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)
A light to medium crimson. The bouquet is exquisite, very classy, fully ripe thus becoming almost floral, but not falling over into excess. A good crisp acid balance, and just a little blood orange. Refined, complex Gevrey. Drink from 2028-2034.HK$890.00 -

Burghound (89-91)
(from 7 different lieux-dits). A mentholated top note can be found on the slightly riper aromas of plum, newly turned earth and a whisper of the sauvage. The sleek, delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors possess both fine vibrancy and detail while delivering solid length on the moderately austere and lightly rustic finale. This is a solid Gevrey villages and worth checking out.HK$890.00 -
Wine Advocate (93)
The 2009 Latricieres-Chambertin reveals gorgeous inner perfume and depth. The fruit is vibrant, chiseled and full of energy. Latricieres is one of the cooler sites in Gevrey, which was a big help in preserving freshness in 2009. A long, intense finish rounds things out in style. This is a superb wine from Rossignol-Trapet. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.HK$20,140.00 -

(1x75cl) 2012Wine Advocate (91)
Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet does not quite have the panache or the vigour of J-L Trapet's Latricières 2012 on the nose, partly because of some reduction. This is much more introverted. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly sinewy tannins that clearly need two or three years to soften. But there is good matière on the finish, even if it has not nurtured commensurate finesse.HK$2,040.00 -
Wine Advocate (94)
Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very composed bouquet with fine delineation, bright redcurrant and cranberry fruit, later hints of dried blood and potpourri. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, gentle and yet harmonious with gorgeous mulberry and red plum fruit, underneath which lies very fine mineralité. With great length to boot, this is an excellent Latricières from Rossignol-Trapet. Tasted September 2016.HK$1,320.00 -
(1x75cl) 2015Vinous (94)
The 2015 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very attractive bouquet of red berry fruit, brown spices, cold stone, and a touch of sous-bois, all well defined and endowed with a surfeit of charm. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, conveying the more masculine nature of this grand cru vineyard, yet with precision and detail flowing through the finish. Excellent, but it needs several years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.HK$1,515.00 -
Vinous (94+)
The 2017 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is very stubborn and closed on the nose, then opens wonderfully to offer red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate scents, but frustratingly, it ebbs away with further aeration. Very mercurial. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine depth and grip, delivering admirable precision on the finish. It will need a few years to settle down, but it should come good in the end. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.HK$8,030.00 -
Vinous (94+)
The 2018 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has an outstanding bouquet of vibrant black cherry and boysenberry fruit suffused with minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit on the entry, maybe just a little closed after bottling at the moment, but demonstrating good grip and a strong marine influence on the finish. Give this 3–4 years in bottle.HK$7,090.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2020 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit, tertiary notes, touches of incense and rosemary. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, fine acidity, structured with good substance, saline, almost briny towards the long finish. Superb.HK$7,820.00 -
(3x150cl) 2021Vinous (91-93)
The 2021 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a backward bouquet; a mixture of red and black fruit, quite estuarine and needing a little more coherence. Hints of Seville orange marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, a healthy sprinkling of white pepper here and a nicely detailed yet slightly conservative finish.HK$13,175.00 -

Burghound (92-95)
(from vines planted in 1955). A strikingly elegant if restrained nose is comprised by notes of red and dark currant, forest floor, exotic tea and an abundance of floral hints. There is both fine intensity and an almost aggressive minerality to the chiseled medium-bodied flavors that possess an appealing texture before concluding in a moderately austere and refreshing finish that also displays just a touch of warmth. This is a very classy wine that should also amply repay mid to longer-term keeping.HK$2,470.00 -
(3x75cl) 2013Jancis Robinson (18)
Fairly light though elegant nose and then wonderfully tightly knit on the palate. A real future over-performer. Enormous finesse. Succulent. Long but not galumphing.HK$15,925.00 -
