Still a rather fine-grained wine but finishes slightly hard-edged and youthfully dry, with a touch of bitterness but good length. There's more inner-mouth tension here but this wine will need patience. I am sure this will come together but not quite showing today. You can see there is much more though. Powerful white fruit. Some ripe citrus starts to appear at the back. It has a very intense bouquet, quite mineral-driven with limestone and sea spray scents, just a subtle reduction on the background. The palate has exquisite balance, fresh on the entry, rather deep with plenty of substance and slightly pithy towards the finish. There is a lot in this Bâtard-Montrachet, and it has impressive persistence. This is one of the standouts from the Grand Cru in this traumatic season - some achievement.HK$6,240.00 -
