  • Chandon de Briailles Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2017 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (93-95)

The 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is excellent, unfurling in the glass with notes of lime and lemon oil, crushed chalky, blanched almonds, dried white flowers and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with chewy extract, tangy acids and a long, chalky finish. It's a very promising rendition of a cuvée that flies somewhat under the radar.
  • Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses Blanc 2018 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (90)

The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru Blanc has a taut, fresh, quite mineral-driven bouquet that delivers scents of chalk and lemon zest with aplomb. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, and what it lacks in length, it compensates with energy.
  • Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses Blanc 2019 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (86-88)

The 2019 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru Blanc has a delightful nose of yellow flower and lemon peel that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, although I find it missing a little tension and edge toward the finish. Hopefully it will gain this during the remainder of its élevage.

    Wine Anorak (93)

North part of Chassagne, they have 2 hectares. Rocky soil with lots of limestone. Linear, bright and mineral with a citrus fruit core and a bit of spicy oak. There’s a tiny hint of bitterness under the fruit. Has a bit of pineapple and pear richness, too, and some hazelnut. Lovely focus.

  • Chanson Corton Vergennes Grand Cru 2022 (6x75cl)

    Decanter (96)

This delicious white Corton has an almost Montrachet-like richness and depth of flavour, with its aromas of ripe apple, quince, cream and spice. The texture is luxurious, almost decadent, but the balanced acidity and extract carry it to an alluringly long finish. The domaine owns 0.65 hectares down the slope from Le Rognet et Corton in Ladoix that face due east; the grapes are carefully sorted, pressed as whole clusters, and fermented in cask (one-quarter new). This wine should open nicely in five years and will drink well for a further 20.
  • Chanson Corton Vergennes Grand Cru 2023 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)

Still in barrel. Mid lemon yellow. Sitting back on its haunches. Clearly a significant bench of white fruit with just a touch of citrus. Concentrated, as yet undeveloped, an attractive greener touch to the fruit further back, complex and well worthy of its grand cru status. Very long finish. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024.

  • Chanson Pere & Fils Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2022 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)

An even fuller yellow and an even more luxuriant nose, as Clos des Mouches cannot help. I still haven’t understood just why this vineyard should make such opulent, creamily textured wines. The oak is for me just a little bit too present but it should sort itself out after a light bentonite fining and filtering. Good acidity. Plenty of wine to work with here! Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted: October 2023.

  • Chanson Pere & Fils Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2023 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)

Still in barrel. Mid lemon yellow. There is that custard cream note from the barrel which will be refined later. But it is also the style of this vineyard, with its extra weight and spice. Still a work in progress but heading in the right direction. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2024.
  • Chanson Pere et Fils Corton Charlemagne Blanc 2010 (6x75cl)
  • Chanson Pere et Fils Pernand Vergelesses Caradeux 2009 (6x75cl)
  • Chanson Pere et Fils Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres 2023 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)

Mid lemon yellow. The bouquet has plenty of fruit weight with some distinction as well, along with a trace of the barrel. This fills the mouth with a full ripe white fruit, well integrated acidity and good persistence – In fact the fruit keeps coming back for more at the finish. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2024.
