This will require some bottle age. |

The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, tart red cherry intermixed with blackcurrant and touches of thyme and bay, just tapering a little towards the finish. It will fill out by the time of bottling. |

I appreciate the edginess in this Volnay Village, thanks to the citric acidity and the spiciness that develops on the finish. Lovely. |

Minty herbs, currants, and chocolate all define the nose, and on the palate, it has resolved tannins and a good sense of freshness. I love it today yet see no reason it shouldn't evolve nicely over the coming decade, with a gradual decline thereafter. Drink 2026-2036. |
