Vinous (93-95)
Good medium ruby. Distinctly wilder aromas of small black fruits, roasted meat, coffee, leather and smoke; conveys a strong impression of soil. Like liquid silk in the mouth, with pure, precise flavors of blackberry, blueberry and game. Wonderfully layered and concentrated, and currently hiding its tightly coiled spring. Finishes with great length and hints of violet and caramel. A connoisseur's wine.HK$23,625.00 -
(1x75cl) 2011Vinous (94-96)
I would never have guessed the 2011 Mazis-Chambertin was made with 100% whole clusters given how intense, rich and powerful it is. This is an unusual Mazis with little of the sensuality typical of this site. Instead, the fruit is explosive and powerful to the core. The huge tannins will test readers' patience, but those who can wait will be treated to something special. The Mazis was aged in 100% new oak.HK$7,070.00 -
(1x75cl) 2012Vinous (95-97)
Rose petals, violets, anise and sweet red cherries lift from the glass in Dugat-Py's 2012 Mazis-Chambertin. The contours are refined, silky and polished throughout. This is a fabulous showing from a wine that is vibrant, crystalline and utterly breathtaking. Although the Mazis is quite floral and intensely aromatic, it also has plenty of depth and mid-palate pliancy.HK$8,175.00 -
The Bernard Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru VV 2020 is a magnificent embodiment of French viticulture. This Grand Cru, hailing from Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is a tribute to the expertise of the renowned producer Bernard Dugat-Py, whose family's winemaking roots deepen to the 17th century. Made exclusively from very old vines ('Vieilles Vignes') of Pinot Noir, the wine encapsulates the terroir's nuance and strength.
This vintage, though in its infancy, dynamically showcases deep, concentrated fruit profiles alongside robust tannins and high acidity, promising potential for development over the next decades. Barrel-fermented and matured for up to 20 months, it unfolds layers of complexity with every sip. A well-structured and intense wine, the Bernard Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru VV 2020 offers an exquisite palate of black cherry, raspberry, and cold stone nuances with underlying hints of forest earth and spices.
A fine specimen of Burgundy's prowess, this wine undeniably exhibits eloquent craftsmanship and a gracefully ageing potential.

Distinguished wine connoisseurs recognise Bernard Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru VV 2021 as a gorgeous representation of the famed Burgundy region. Produced by the celebrated Bernard Dugat-Py, renowned for his time-honoured winemaking techniques, this wine is a symbol of fine pedigree and authenticity. Bernard Dugat-Py's 2021 vintage features Vielles Vignes, or old vines, from the Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru appellation, undeniably one of Burgundy's most opulent terroirs. Green harvesting and severe sorting on the vines ensure healthy, concentrated fruit. Deep in colour, this Pinot Noir displays an intense bouquet of red fruits and spices on the nose, leading to a full-bodied, exquisitely complex palate. Produced in the traditional manner, including a lengthy maceration period and ageing in 100% new oak barrels, it renders a rich, long-lasting finish. Savour this sublime expression of Burgundian grandeur, the legendary Bernard Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru VV 2021.HK$40,420.00 -
(6x75cl) 2013Wine Advocate (94-96)
The 2013 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru, which includes about 80% whole-bunch fruit, has a very expressive and well-defined bouquet, with mineral-rich black and red fruit that are very focused. The palate has more delineation than the Charmes-Chambertin, fine structure with a linear and focused finish. This is one of my favorites from the domaine this year - more ebullient and tense than many of its peers.HK$24,605.00 -
(3x75cl) 2018Vinous (95-97)
The 2018 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from two parcels of 45- and 80-year-old vines on much stonier soils than the Charmes-Chambertin. This has a knockout nose of brambly black fruit, cassis and crushed stone aromas that gain intensity with every swirl of the glass. The palate is silky-smooth on the entry and very precise and focused, with great tension toward the shimmering vintage. This is definitely one of the best Mazoyères-Chambertins I have tasted in over ten years of coming to this domaine.HK$15,460.00 -
Burghound (96)
Super-fresh, cool and distinctly restrained aromas include those of poached plum, the sauvage, rose petal and plenty of newly turned earth. The delicious, vibrant and more powerful larger-scaled flavors exude notably more minerality on the youthfully austere and superbly persistent finale. This beauty could also use a bit more depth, but everything is in place such that should occur. In a word, superb.HK$5,195.00 -
The Bernard Dugat-Py Pommard Les Vaumuriens-Hauts Tres Vieilles Vignes 2020 is a formidable expression of the soil from which it originates, encompassing the essence of the renowned Burgundian terroir. Produced by the esteemed vigneron Bernard Dugat-Py in Gevrey-Chambertin, this red wine boasts the grandeur of a hundred-year-old vine stock. Dugat-Py's discerning winemaking techniques, including manual harvesting and ageing in new French oak barrels, yield an exquisite balance of dark cherry and earthy tones, textured tannins, and a long, captivating finish. This vintage is lauded for its youth yet profound maturity, a testament to the Dugat-Py's family tradition of crafting wines with longevity. Honoured by critics, the Bernard Dugat-Py Pommard Les Vaumuriens-Hauts Tres Vieilles Vignes 2020 promises a remarkable drinking experience for those appreciative of Burgundy's prestigious viniculture. The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes has turned out especially well, to the extent that it's the best rendition of this cuvée that I can remember tasting chez Dugat-Py. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries, rose petals, incense and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and multidimensional, with terrific concentration, supple tannins and lively acids.HK$12,000.00 -

The 1990 Duhart-Milon is a vintage I have not drunk for a long time. Served blind, it has a lovely nose of blackberry, singed leather, hung game and pencil shavings. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, disguising the warmth of the growing season with some style thanks to the perfectly judged acidity. Yes, a little foursquare on the finish, it is Duhart after all, but what a gorgeous wine. This is an ex-château bottle that was served at Maison François in London.HK$10,910.00 -

A very good amount of ripe fruit in this wine, with a complement of cedar and tobacco character. Full-bodied, with firm tannins that verge on being aggressive, but overall an attractive '98. Score range: 85-89HK$9,090.00 -

(-) Good deep ruby-red. Sexy aromas of currant, minerals and gunpowder tea. Densely packed and minerally, with uncompromising dryness and a firm edge of acidity. Very old school and in need of bottle aging, yet this already has considerable sex appeal.HK$7,310.00 -

Another sleeper of the vintage for this property that has been doing impressive work over recent vintages, the 2004 (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot) displays a dark ruby/purple color along with classic aromas of cedar, creme de cassis, earth, spice, and wood. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, long, and impressively endowed, it should be at its peak between 2010-2022.HK$8,820.00 -

The character of this wine, a straight line of tannins and black currant fruit flavors, is the model of a classic Pauillac. It has all the structure as well as some austerity and severity at this stage in its development. But the fruit texture is rich enough, dried fruits and spice followed by licorice and bitter chocolate. Age for five years at least.HK$7,375.00 -

Showing better than it did from cask, this soft, generous, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2007 exhibits sweet black currant fruit intermixed with cedar, roasted herbs, and subtle smoke. Round, hedonistic, and already complex, this blend of 73.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26.5% Merlot should drink well for 12-15 years.HK$6,795.00 -

A magnificent sleeper of the vintage, the 2008 Duhart Milon is the shrewd consumer’s wine to purchase by the case as prices do not yet reflect its qualitative resurgence. Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot that came in at 13.09% alcohol, it is a surprisingly intense effort displaying a marvelous texture, plenty of black currant, licorice, unsmoked cigar tobacco and earthy characteristics, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning purity as well as density. Enjoy this top-notch 2008 over the next 20-25 years.HK$12,555.00 -

Talk about value, the 2009 Duhart-Milon is straight up sensational stuff. Made from 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, it gives up classic notes of blackcurrants, pencil shavings, saddle leather and smoked herbs, it’s full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with fine tannin, impeccable balance and a great, great finish. It’s a heavenly bottle of wine that will compete with the best out there. Buy this wine!HK$10,035.00 -

This starts out reserved, and then quietly builds in strength, showing velvety tannins, creamy blackberry and blackcurrant hedgerow, full of Pauillac character and tannins but far less forbidding that it was as a young wine. Love how much this has grown into itself over ageing.HK$8,835.00 -

This marks an impressive step forward for this wine that's so often been in the shadows of other wines in the Lafite-Rothschild stable. It's dense and structured as well as deliciously fruity. The wine is straight down the line, starting with perfumed acidity and finishing with blackberry fruit. Intense and tannic, it's likely to age. Drink from 2020.HK$3,345.00 -

The 2013 Duhart-Milon impresses for its energy, cut and focus. Freshly cut flowers, smoke, graphite, melted road tar and smoke all take shape in the glass. The 2013 is smoky, gamy and rich, with good depth and intensity for the vintage, all supported by firm, incisive tannins. The harvest took place from October 1 to 14. The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Tasted twice.HK$3,060.00 -

The 2014 Duhart-Milon is a wine that performs shockingly well, far better than I would have expected given its showing just after bottling. Here, it has a detailed, focused bouquet with graphite infused black fruit, smoke and cedar aromas. Quintessential Pauillac. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit attired with a subtle marine influence, seaweed and oyster shell. I admire the crescendo of this Pauillac, the manner in which it builds in concentration with a precise and quite powerful finish, without losing any of its precision. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.HK$6,530.00 -
