(12x75cl) 2015Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)
The 2015 Louis is broad, generous and super-expressive. The rich, textured style gives the black cherry, espresso, blackberry, menthol and licorice flavors a good bit of voluptuousness. Although not especially subtle, the 2015 Louis is impeccably made. It will appeal most to readers who appreciate the more exuberant side of Saint-Émilion.HK$3,605.00 -
(12x75cl) 2016Vinous - Antonio Galloni (84)
The 2016 Louis comes across as overripe, with hard tannins that make the wine feel clumsy. Sadly, élevage has not done much to soften the rough contours I saw when the 2016 was in barrel.HK$3,605.00 -

(1x75cl) 2011Vinous (93)
Good bright red. Open-knit, inviting aromas of redcurrant, red cherry, leather and game. Big, round and rich, with a sexy decadent quality to the plump flavors of raspberry, spices and leather. Superripe wine with terrific creamy depth of fruit shaped by harmonious acidity. Finishes round and long but not heavy, with sweet tannins. Really transcends the vintage.HK$740.00 -
Vinous (92-95)
(aging in 33% new oak; these vines just under Mazis-Chambertin are now 104 years old, according to Boillot): Bright ruby-red. Very ripe but youthfully brooding aromas of black cherry, licorice, menthol and stone. Then surprisingly fat, pliant and sweet in the mouth, with its dark cherry and black raspberry fruit displaying outstanding creamy depth and volume. Wonderfully rich, seamless and relaxed, finishing with utterly suave tannins and terrific length, if not yet quite the complexity of the Champonnets. But that will come with time. This wine struck me as more relaxed than Boillot's 2016s from frost-affected vines on the Côte de Beaune. A splendid Gevrey premier cru in the making.HK$8,835.00 -
Vinous (92-94)
(from 45-year-old vines; 25% new oak): Deep ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of currant, iron, dried flowers and dark chocolate. Moderately thick but juicy and fine-grained, with medicinal cherry and menthol flavors complemented by a saline quality. Offers a captivating blend of subtle sweetness, pliancy and energy. Finishes quite suave, with terrific rising length. Much more about finesse than power. Boillot told me that his holding in Champonnets is virtually split into two halves, the higher one on rocky, mineral soil and the lower one on red clay. A splendid Gevrey premier cru in the making.HK$6,630.00 -
(12x75cl) 2009Vinous (87-89)
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin reveals considerable nuance in its open, perfumed bouquet and well-articulated fruit. The finish is ethereal, feminine and simply exquisite.HK$5,215.00 -
(12x75cl) 2014Vinous (89-91)
(an assemblage of eight village parcels from all over Gevrey-Chambertin, some very well placed and three on the wrong side of the Route Nationale): Bright red. Complex, rather cool nose combines scents of black raspberry, black cherry, black tea, peony and elderberry. Sweet, plush and thick for village wine, with a creamy old-vines quality leavened by very good energy. The broad finish features ripe tannins and noteworthy length. An impressively full village wine with good inner-mouth tension.HK$8,980.00 -
(6x75cl) 2015Vinous (89-91)
(Boillot has eight village parcels covering 2.5 hectares, which makes this his largest single cuvée): Bright, dark red. Very pure aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice and violet. Youthfully tight and primary in the mouth, with intense flavors of dark berries, licorice and spices firmed and carried by brisk acidity and a solid tannic spine. Finishes with a suggestion of hard candy.HK$4,780.00 -
Vinous (88-90)
(Boillot assembled eight parcels of old vines ranging from 59 to 70 years of age): Bright red-ruby. Deep, pure, youthful scents of black cherry, dark raspberry and licorice. Intensely flavored if a bit medicinal and tight, with its blackberry and violet flavors complicated by bitter chocolate and a cool herbal nuance. Aeration brought an enticing touch of sweetness and some old-vines creaminess. This serious village wine finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and good subtle persistence.HK$8,835.00 -
Vinous (88-90)
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, a blend of eight parcels, has a slightly lean bouquet at first, although it gains a little weight with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a pretty, tart entry. There is a fine bead of acidity here, and some abruptness right on the finish. That might well fill out during the remaining barrel maturation.HK$760.00 -
Wine Advocate (89-91+)
From eight different lieux-dits and averaging over sixty years of age, Boillot's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village reveals aromas of red cherries, cassis and sweet soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, succulent palate with fine concentration and chalky structure. It's a fine Gevrey in the making.HK$3,535.00 -
(12x75cl) 2019Vinous (89-91)
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from vines between 50 and 80 years old. It comes across quite strict on the nose, certainly a lot more restrained than the Chambolle Village, with tight-knit loamy aromas. The medium-bodied palate presents crushed blackberry and cranberry fruit, a fine bead of acidity and impressive substance on the finish considering this is a Village Cru. A finely crafted Gevrey from Boillot that will last longer than I suspect many will allow.HK$4,700.00 -

(6x75cl) 2020Vinous (88-90)
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a straightforward bouquet with brambly red fruit with a touch of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic entry, lower in acidity than maybe other cuvées though the fleshiness on the finish is appealing. Quite pure too.HK$2,550.00 -
Burghound (89-91)
Outstanding. Moderate reduction renders the nose tough to assess today. Otherwise there is good freshness and tension to the solidly concentrated and delineated medium-bodied flavors that exude a more subtle minerality on the firmly austere but not really rustic finale. Good stuff and worth checking out plus it will age.HK$2,735.00 -
(6x75cl) 2023Burghound (88-91)
(exclusively from old vines of an indeterminate age located in 8 different lieux-dits, the largest of which is Le Fourneau). An expressive, cool and nuanced nose freely offers up its aromas of wild red currant, cherry and just enough earth influence to be persuasive that this is from Gevrey. The exceptionally supple, indeed even almost easy-going, flavors aren’t particularly dense but they are refreshing and vibrant before tightening up on the youthfully austere, dusty and fairly firm but not hard finish. This could use better depth so a few years of forbearance should be helpful.HK$2,185 - HK$2,670

(1x75cl) 2011Vinous (92-94)
Power and resonance take center stage in the 2011 Nuits Saint Georges Les Pruliers. Crushed rocks, menthol, pencil shavings and dark cherries all ring out in a focused, energetic, tightly wound Burgundy. The 2011 needs time to settle down, but it is striking and utterly vivid in the glass, even at this early stage. There is quite a bit to look forward to here.HK$990.00 -
(1x75cl) 2013Vinous (90-93)
Bright, dark red. Tight nose hints at blackberry, black cherry, licorice and violet, along with a medicinal menthol reserve. Dense, sappy and imploded, with black fruit flavors currently dominated by rather muscular minerality. This very rich but distinctly rectilinear wine is less refined than Boillot's 2013s from Gevrey-Chambertin and its substantial building tannins will require patience.HK$860.00 -

Vinous (92)
Healthy full red. Slightly high-toned aromas of raspberry, coffee and minerals, plus a positive vegetal nuance that reminded me of the young 2015. Creamy-sweet and highly concentrated, showing a lovely balance of sucrosité and acidity. Quite silky and stylish, especially for Nuits-Saint-Georges. The tannins are more successfully integrated today than those of the Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles, which will allow this rather powerful wine to give pleasure earlier. Impressively long on the aftertaste.HK$3,695.00 -

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has a gorgeous, pure dark cherry and violet-scented bouquet, very Vosne-like and seductive.
