  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2009 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (94)

The 2009 Chambertin is seriously intense in its deep, intricate layers of fruit. Floral overtones and hints of licorice add complexity as the wine opens up over time. The Chambertin finishes with substantial energy while maintaining tons of aromatic freshness and complexity. In short, it is a marvelous, complete wine with many years of brilliant drinking ahead. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039.
  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2011 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

An exotic, beguiling beauty, the 2011 Chambertin graces the palate with an exotic melange of graphite, blood orange, violets, minerals, rose petals and plums. The 2011 isn't quite as rich as the 2010 or the 2012, but in exchange it will drink well earlier than either of those wines. The inclusion of 30% whole clusters adds gorgeous aromatic lift and presence. The voluptuous, textured finish is impossible to resist. Today, the Chambertin is magnificent.
  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2012 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

Damoy's Chambertin is fabulous in 2012. This is an unusually bright, vibrant 2012, with a decidedly energetic sense of lift that only adds to the wine's considerable appeal. Dark red and purplish-toned fruit, crushed flowers and mint are all super-expressive. Chalky tannins only add to the wine's energy and pure drive. Today, the 2012 is quite embryonic and in need of considerable cellaring.

  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-94+)

Damoy's 2013 Chambertin comes across as decidedly wild and powerful in style. Juicy black cherries, mint, sage, lavender and violets flesh out as the 2013 shows off its breadth and density. Today, the Chambertin is quite raw, as the malos aren't quite finished. I suspect the 2013 will be quite a bit more complete and harmonious in a few months, once the elements meld together further. Still, the 2013 is impressive just the same.
  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2014 (6x75cl)

    Wine Spectator (95)

Offers ample flesh and a cherry core, all supported by a firm, racy structure, but the tannins will require time to resolve. Verges on creamy in texture, with mineral and spice notes complementing the fruit. Terrific finish. Best from 2021 through 2040.
  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 (3x75cl)

Hailing from the prized vineyards of Chambertin in Burgundy, France, the Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 is an exquisite red wine of impeccable pedigree. Crafted by experienced, fifth-generation winemaker Pierre Damoy, this Grand Cru is a remarkable expression of the Pinot Noir grape. It is grown in a cherished, uniquely stony terroir that naturally limits yield, emphasising quality over quantity.

On the nose, it releases a captivating bouquet of cherries, wild raspberries, and hints of cinnamon, showcasing a masterful balance of power and finesse. The palate is welcomed with rich, silky textures, and a layered complexity that reveals its careful ageing in French oak barrels. Although expressive and enjoyable now, the Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 bears a cellaring potential that promises evolution and maturation. Indulge in this mesmerising Burgundian masterpiece, an outstanding testament to the craftsmanship of Pierre Damoy.

  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 (3x75cl)

    Burghound (96)

A brooding nose of both red and dark currant is laced with sauvage, port, cassis and earth nuances. The delicious, intense and sleekly muscular big-bodied flavors possess excellent size and weight while displaying plenty of minerality on the overtly austere, compact and unapologetically built-to-age finale. This is an atypical Chambertin in the category of "buy and forget you own it for at least 10 years". I would note that this bottle showed dramatically better than the one in my original review, which is obviously odd but nonetheless, this one was knock-out good.

  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin-Clos-De-Beze Grand Cru 2011 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (96)

Dark and brooding, the 2011 Chambertin Clos de Bèze is fabulous today. Stylistically, the Bèze is quite a bit richer than the Chambertin, although it lacks just a touch of that wine's finesse. That is a pretty small complaint for a wine that delivers so much pure intensity. Layers of dark blue/purplish fruit fill out the wine's frame effortlessly, followed by violet, spice, smoke and licorice overtones. In 2011, the Bèze is exotic, resonant and compelling to the core.

  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin-Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 2012 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (96)

A wine of pure texture, Pierre Damoy's Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is gorgeous in 2012. Classic dark blue and purplish Bèze notes flesh out on the mid palate, with floral and spice overtones that add nuance. Silky and creamy through to the finish, the 2012 possesses notable power, intensity and resonance, all qualities that will allow it to age gracefully for many years to come. In the meantime, readers should forget about the 2012 for the better part of the next decade.
  • Pierre Damoy Chambertin-Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 2013 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (93-96)

The 2013 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is incredibly dense at this stage. Powerful yet implosive, the 2013 is a ball of tightly wound energy. Dark cherry jam, cloves, mint and hard candy are barely developed in an embryonic Bèze that appears to have a very bright future ahead of it. The aromatics continue to soar as the wine sits in the glass, hinting at what is to come. Readers will have to be patient with this decidedly authoritative, incisive Bèze.

It has a showstopper of a nose with brilliantly defined black plum, cranberry, wild strawberry, sous bois and minerals. You just have to stop and admire the clarity of the aromatics here.
