The 2017 Volnay 1er Cru Les Brouillards exhibits beautiful nose notes of orange rind, wild berries, cassis and rose petals. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny, with a lavishly textural attack, melting tannins and a succulent core of fruit, concluding with a long finish. In 2016, this cuvée was so small that Glantenay included it in his Volnay AOC, but happily, 2017 marks its return to the range.HK$3,445.00 -
(6x75cl) 2019As a connoisseur, you'll appreciate the Glantenay Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret 2019 – a remarkable vintage from a distinguished Burgundian estate. Produced in the scenic village of Volnay, in France's renowned Côte de Beaune region, this Pinot Noir is grown in limestone-rich vineyards that impart a definitive minerality. The Glantenay family, wine-growers for several generations, meticulously hand-harvest and rigorously sort their grapes to maintain unparalleled quality. Ageing in French Oak barrels accentuates the wine's complexity and depth. The 2019 vintage is engaging, exhibiting opulent aromas of dark cherry and wild berries alongside silky tannins, yielding an exquisite balance between strength and elegance. Graced by a persistent finish, the Glantenay Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret 2019 sings of its terroir, providing an authentic Burgundian experience with every sip. The distinguished palates value this label as the embodiment of classic Volnay: fragrant, refined and beautifully expressive.

From the renowned French vineyard, the exquisite Glantenay Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret 2020 is a testament to the exceptional terroir of Volnay in Burgundy. Hailing from the 2020 vintage, the fragrant, vivid red fruits of this Pinot Noir are beautifully complimented by its mineral nuances and velvety tannins. Predominantly grown in calcareous-clay soils, the grapes are hand-picked, de-stemmed, then gently pressed, allowing extraction of sublime flavours and holding back excessive tannins.
This wine has spent 18 months maturing in oak barrels, crafted by the talented Glantenay family, who have been making wine in Volnay for several generations. With its deep ruby hue and the balance of fruit, spice, and earthy notes, Glantenay Volnay 1er Cru Les Ronceret 2020 is a captivating expression of its unique origin. Expertly crafted and reflecting the passion and dedication of its makers, this is a wine for true connoisseurs.

This wine was a big, rich fruit bomb in its youth, revealing notions of tapenade, olives, and herbs. It has always been delicious, and continues to display glorious levels of fruit, attractive, sweet tannin, and a velvety texture. I mistakenly thought it would be in its grave five or six years ago. Consistently pleasurable and hedonistic, and at the same time gaining complexity, it is fully mature and I don’t think it will evolve any further ... but I said the same thing 10-15 years ago. Another wine with spicy, meaty, and funky aromas, but lots of ripe fruit. Full bodied, with soft round tannins, lots of them. Impressive now, but will be better if you wait until after 2013. Find the wineHK$5,650.00 -

Great stuff, juicy, balanced, enticing, 2009 in a glass. Just a brilliant wine, so delicious and balanced, packed with soft brambled fruits, liquorice and graphite. Not the most intense and concentrated that you'll find in St Julien but this is joyful, great stuff and ready to drink. A buy.HK$5,745.00 -

Deep rich ruby colour, brooding and a little closed on the nose, this is a great wine in both 2009 and 2010, which is not always the case, perhaps because the two vintages needed different skillsets. You can pick either vintage for Gloria though, and this one majors on crayon, campfire, violet flowers, grilled almonds, blackberry, damson and incense.HK$5,450.00 -

The 2016 Gloria is one of the undisputed stars of this vintage. Rich, deep and explosive, the 2016 possesses tremendous intensity in all of its dimensions. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, menthol, licorice and dried rose petal all add complexity. In 2016 Gloria is a real head-turner. It should be a fabulous value as well. There is not much else to say.HK$2,375.00 -

The 2017 Gloria is just as delicious from bottle as it was from barrel. A rush of bright red cherry and plum fruit, blood orange, iron, dried flowers and mint gives the 2017 its sense of energy. Medium in body and full of character, Gloria is one of the highlights of the vintage. Don't miss it. Tasted two times.HK$1,345.00 -

The 2020 Gloria is another Saint-Julien with an unapologetically backward nose, yet it has razor-sharp delineation and superb mineralité. It's just tightly coiled at the moment. Very harmonious, the palate is medium-bodied and satiny in texture, with sapid black fruit and a precocious yet beautifully controlled and persistent finish. Outstanding. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.HK$3,780.00 -

The 2022 Gloria has an engaging and complex nose: black fruit, touches of blueberry, welcome estuarine scents, almost seaweed-like. Well defined, and the oak here is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well judged acidity, gains weight towards the finish but it maintains superb delineation and focus. Excellent.
