Made from a magically complex blend of 43% Syrah, 29% Carmenere, 12% Cabernet sauvignon and the rest Mourvedre, Petit Verdot, Carignan, Malbec, Garnacha and Tempranillo, their approach has clearly paid off, as Suckling says, the 'purity of this wine is exceptional'.

'Wonderfully detailed and complex' on the palate, it is 'racy and mineral' (TA) with scented oak, mint, wild herb and sweet spice undertones and a core of inky damson and black cherry fruit. Needing only one more year in bottle to open up, it will cellar up to 2030 in the eyes of Atkin.
