It has been a very long while since we last offered what might be the most commercially successful winery in the world – Cloudy Bay. So, it is a joy that we can find an excellent parcel that is due to arrive in Hong Kong in 4-5 weeks.
Founded by David Hohnen in 1985 in the Wairau Valley and one of the first five producers in the now celebrated Marlborough region, Cloudy Bay is named after the stretch of coast north of the vineyards where Captain Cook first landed in the country in 1770. An early pioneer of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Cloudy Bay's importance in the advancement of New Zealand as a respected wine country cannot be overstated, and their Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noirs have certainly captured the minds and hearts of many in the world over.
Today we have the pleasure to present the wholistic selection from Cloudy Bay. From entry-level varietal expressions of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, to serious terroir expressive single-vineyard bottlings such as Te Wahi and Te Koko, these are all delightful treats available at a really modest price.
But it is their excellent value Sparkling wine – Pelorus - that we want to highlight to your attention. A sparkler made from the esteemed Champagne method, Pelorus having undergone 24 months on lees is a “quite outstanding wine for its station”, according to Huon Hooke of the Real Review. Awarded an impressive 95pts from the critic, this sparkler oozes a “rich and full” mouthfeel and a slate of compelling “toasty, iced pastries, nougat and almond meal” undertones.
Available from HK$1,200 / SG$205 per case IB, these are some perfect wines for daily drinking or an occasional picnic or BBQ, snap out a few cases now with our special prices!
