One of the great estates in Chianti Classico, Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebaste have continuously taken Castello di Ama to new heights over the years with consistent innovation in the winery and their vineyards. Vinous's Antonio Galloni even goes as far to say they are 'among the best not just in Chianti but the world'.

Today we are thrilled to be able to offer a special late release parcel of their Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Riserva 2008. Perfectly matured in the estate's cellar for an extra 10 years, rarely do you see Chianti Classico of this quality on the market with so much age.

In a recent 2021 tasting by the Wine Spectator, this stunning Riserva 2008 scored a huge 95 points, the highest score of any Chianti Classico from the entire vintage. Supported with scores of 92+ point from Vinous and 17.5/20 from Jancis Robinson MW, this is 'another winner' (VN) from this magnificent estate.

'Racy and ethereal with the savour of Sangiovese', it seems Robinson couldn't get enough of this 'super-appetising' Riserva. It has a complex bouquet of the usual smoky cherry, plum and redcurrant combining the leather, iron, tobacco and spice notes added from time in bottle. Still incredibly 'lively and long' for a Chianti Classico of its age, Wine Specator believe it could still cellar up to 2033, if you are able to keep your hands off it.

Offered at the global lowest price of only £195 per case IB, if you take into context that 10 years of storage would cost £78, the Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Riserva 2008 looks even better value. This is any Sangiovese lovers dream.
