We are delighted to release the 2021 Rieslings from their renowned vineyards in Germany, Graacher Himmelreich and Wehlener Sonnenuhr. These sites are the most highly regarded vineyards in Germany, equivalent to the very best Grands Crus of Burgundy.
The 2021 vintage was characterized as a "high-pressure" vintage, as it was wet and cool, requiring precise and timely vineyard management throughout the year. This vintage will undoubtedly require careful selection, but it also demonstrates the spectacular magic carried out by knowledgeable, resourceful, and attentive growers.

Joh Jos Prüm is one of the producers that can never go wrong. Despite significantly lower yields, the team managed to produce a fantastic line-up from their two flagship vineyards. While the 2021 vintage is marked with classic and impressive Kabinetts and Spätleses, it is worth noting that their highly venerable sites planted with very old vines also gave rise to some of the very top Auslese of the vintage.
- Wehlener Sonnenuhr, located right next to Graacher Himmelreich is the largest vineyard under J.J. Prum's glorious portfolio. Another crown jewel under Prum’s possession, this vineyard's wines boast vivid intensity, minerality,and power.
- Graacher Himmerlreich, translating to “Kingdom of Heaven”, is a steep vineyard full of clay and blue slate. With a steepness that facilitates air circulation and slate soil reflecting sunlight and heat, wines sourced from this site show excellent ripeness, minerality and longevity.

The 2021 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is very clear, bright and elegant on the saline and beautifully balanced nose that delivers bright and quite intense fruit aromas intermingled with weathered slate and also citrus aromas. On the palate, this is a round and intense, mouth-filling and lush, almost creamy-textured Himmelreich with a long, complex and saline finish. It needs some time, though. 7.5% stated alcohol. The 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese is concentrated and fresh on the aromatic nose that is immediately present but also still reductive. Ripe stone fruit aromas intermingle with notes of crushed stones on a deep foundation of aromas from the soil and the fruit of old vines. On the palate, the 2021 is very fine but also intense, savory, saline and lush, leading to a long, intense and highly digestible finish with crunchy and cleansing slate features. Again, this is a fabulous Auslese from Prüm's iconic Sonnenuhr. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.HK$3,200.00 -

The 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett is deep and flinty but bright and clear on the refined and elegant nose with beautiful crushed slate aromas. On the palate, this is a rich, round and generous, incredibly lush and supple but crystalline and even pure Sonnenuhr with a highly stimulating, mouth-watering finish. This 2021 shows the great terroir of the cru, in particular in cool vintages due to its exposition that collects the sun's rays in the morning. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
