The 2018 Bourgogne Rouge had been sulfured the day prior to my visit in November. Raspberry and cranberry fruit on the nose. The medium-bodied palate offers spicy black currant and strawberry fruit and a peppery finish. Fine.HK$5,235.00 -

The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a broody, introspective bouquet that has a little more horsepower compared to the Charmes-Chambertin, plus the fruit is slightly darker. The palate is well balanced, absorbing the new oak with style, quite dense and muscular towards the finish but retaining a sense of elegance and poise. I would give this several years in bottle but it already suggests to be the Grand Cru that might have the most longevity from the domaine.HK$79,395.00 -
(1x75cl) 2018Vinous (96-98)
The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very elegant bouquet that is more poised and detailed than the Charmes-Chambertin, offering black cherries, raspberry and ground gravelly scents; floral notes emerge with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, gorgeous blueberry and strawberry fruit and a silky-smooth, sensual finish that is utterly refined. Stunning.HK$6,950.00 -
Vinous (96)
The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru could well turn out to be Dugat's finest cuvée this vintage. The nose rivets your feet to the spot with its intense oyster shell tinged red fruit that feels more composed compared to the Charmes. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, tensile and brimming with energy. There is a discrete crescendo towards its harmonious, transparent and lingering finish that you just don't want to end. Quite brilliant.HK$44,090.00 -
Vinous (96-98)
The 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a beguiling bouquet with perfumed wild strawberry, cranberry and crushed stone scents, gradually revealing pressed flower aromas with aeration. Multifaceted and vigorous, yet classy. The palate has unerring symmetry, perfectly pitched acidity and seamlessly integrated oak, a discrete crescendo towards a wonderfully proportioned and persistent finish. Everything you could wish for from a Chapelle-Chambertin (and more).HK$9,130.00 -
Vinous (93+)
Full red-ruby. Sexy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, minerals and violet. Wonderfully precise and vibrant, with terrific cut to its intense flavors of dark berries and violet. But this infant is still youthfully tight and bound-up. A bit rounder on the back end, finishing with excellent grip and length and a lingering hint of licorice.HK$30,155.00 -

The 2011 Charmes-Chambertin is pure pleasure. Black cherries, plums, cloves, violets and new leather are all woven together in a fabric of notable class. Here it is the wine's extraordinary textural finesse and overall harmony that take over all of the senses. There is so much to like here, including the wine's generous, inviting personality. The Charmes has really come on strong over the last year.HK$43,940.00 -
Vinous (94-96)
Fleshy, round and supple, the 2012 Charmes-Chambertin is one of the most open and accessible of the 2012s today. Layers of deeply-pitched dark fruit flesh out in a powerful yet gracious, totally exquisite wine. Here it is the wine's soft contours and inviting personality that leave a long, lasting impression.HK$51,350.00 -
Vinous (92-94)
The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru demands a little coaxing from the glass, with dark cherries, raspberry preserve and briary aromas, gradually unfurling but never fully letting go like the Chapelle-Chambertin. The palate is very well structured with a firm backbone, quite Mazoyères-like in style, the mineralité flooding out towards the second half that displays an insistent grip and impressive length. Excellent.HK$5,510.00 -

The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers red cherries and blueberry fruit on the nose, which lives up to its name, though I find more complexity this year on the Lavaux Saint-Jacques by direct comparison. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, a very smooth texture and impressive density, though I discern just a little heaviness on the finish at the moment.HK$27,695.00 -

Another stunner is the 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a striking wine that soars from the glass with aromas of cherries, rose petals, wild berries, sweet spices and loamy soil. Full-bodied, ample and concentrated, it's deep and layered, with an enveloping core of vibrant fruit and a long, penetrating finish.HK$4,625.00 -
Vinous (92-94)
The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru sported quite hefty reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read during my visit at the Domaine. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly lactic entry, powdery texture, tight and firm. Maybe not quite the complexity or amplitude of Dugat's other cuvées on the finish, but it will evolve with time in bottle. A bit stoic at the momentHK$4,045.00 -
