One of the leading estates of Fronsac, La Dauphine is a perfect example of the appellation's resurgence over the last twenty years. Marked improvements in quality and renewed investment have lead to a thorough modernisation of the winery and the product in the bottle. Consulting assistance from Michel Rolland certainly can't hurt and every year the critics take more note of this up and coming chateau.

The 2018 Château de la Dauphine was a knockout when I tasted it from barrel. Now in bottle, it has a very clean, precise bouquet of shimmering blackberry and wild strawberry aromas, underlying blood orange notes coming through with aeration.
