About Maison Louis Jadot
A legendary name in Burgundy with which every collector will be intimately familiar, Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by the eponymous Louis Henry Denis Jadot, although the family had roots as grape growers in the region dating back far further than this.
Purchased by the Kopf family after the death of the last male members of the Jadot family, the Maison currently owns over 60 hectares of vines itself whilst purchasing fruit from select growers to supplement their holdings. In Jacques Lardière, this mighty winery has one of the most experienced and highly respected winemakers in the entire region, having held the position through the transition of ownership since 1970!
A true pioneer of low intervention viticulture and winemaking, Lardière believes the terroir of his sites is the single most beautiful tool at his disposal. It is the soil and sunlight of Burgundy which transposes the wines of Maison Louis Jadot, conveying a sense of time and place in the greatest of Burgundian fashions.

Bright red-ruby. Deep aroma of raspberry, flowers, tobacco and sweet oak, along with a suggestion of medicinal cherry. Dense, rich, chewy and deep, but still rather tightly wound. Very solidly structured but not hard. Finishes firmly tannic and impressively long.HK$2,205.00 -

Pure aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum, with a dense profile and supple texture. Tightly wound now, with red currant and mineral elements that move in on the finish. Should become more elegant with time. Best from 2014 through 2035. 130 cases imported. -BSHK$6,850.00 -
Wine Spectator (96)
Displays enticing aromas of flowers, cherry, strawberry and spice, with a hint of leather and licorice in reserve and a long, long finish. A wall of tannins shuts this down—at least for now. Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (91-94)
Good medium red. Expressive aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol; reduced today but very Clos Vougeot. Dense and vibrant, with very good underlying spine to its black fruit flavors. Finishes with substantial ripe tannins and excellent length. A serious Clos Vougeot in the making.HK$4,655.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2012 Clos Vougeot is one of the most impressive of the Grand Crus I tasted at Jadot this year. Powerful, rich and layered, the 2012 has more than enough fruit to balance the tannins. Dark red fruit, scorched earth, chalk and iron are all layered into the supple, racy finish. This is a surprisingly finessed Clos Vougeot. Hints of rose petal and mint add lift on the close. Full medium red. Medicinal cherry and oak aromas are energized by minerals and pungent blood orange. Very primary and sharply delineated, with bitter cherry and saline mineral flavors complemented by an exotic floral character. So glorious with dried-strawberry and -cherry character. Medium to full body, ultra-polished and beautiful tannins and hints of stones and cedar. Very pretty and refined. Lovely length. Drink or hold.HK$4,815.00 -
Wine Spectator (97)
Rose, cherry and spice aromas introduce this light-bodied, saturated version. The flavors add wild strawberry, incense and kirsch notes, while remaining persistent on the kaleidoscopic finish. Feels tense now, yet should develop nicely over time. A mineral element lingers.HK$4,840.00 -

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has an intense bouquet of blueberry, cassis and iodine aromas, almost Chambolle-like in style. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Citrus-fresh with orange peel and marmalade notes toward the persistent finish. Excellent.HK$4,675.00 -

Cask sample. Glowing ruby. Some really savoury undertow keeps this interesting! Polished tannins and some stoniness. Lots of pinched tannins but that’s not a bad thing. Gives it interest and pace. Very different from most reds in the Jadot stable. Mineral not fruit. Not flattering but a success. Fine-boned.HK$5,525.00 -
Tim Atkin MW (96)
Full-bodied, bursting with ripe fruit and displaying a millefeuille of earthy notes, this is a head-turning Clos Vougeot. It is body builder material with all of its muscle, sinew and grit. The palate gleams with youthful fruit surrounded by corralled tannins and roaring acidity. Not for the faint of palate, but do let this calm down for at least half a decade. It has all the makings of a fascinating wine as it heads into more mature days. 2027-42HK$5,680.00 -

Cask sample. Pale to mid garnet. Firm, well-integrated nose. Sweet start and quite substantial. I think this would show quite well in a blind tasting with its Clos de Vougeot peers. A trace of dry tannin on the end but that promises well for the future. Firm with a little sour-cherry flavour but quite majestic build – even if it’s not nearly as alluring as the Clos St-Jacques!HK$7,500.00 -

Glowing fresh crimson colour. The nose shows fresh fruit without detail as yet. I am impressed by the weight and energy of this very promising Clos Vougeot There is plenty up front, muscular, but enough behind too. A beautiful finish as pure class peeps throughout. Suave, broad and soil-driven, offering distinctly palate-dusting flavors of cherry, spices and stony minerality. Excellent powerful but fresh purple. There is power to the nose but of the right sort, even some nobility. Pretty rich on the palate a very dark raspberry fruit, possible a dusting of chocolate but the important things is that the structure is in the right place and very well balanced. The 2012 Corton Greves wraps around the palate with gorgeous depth and pure power. Rich and seamless to the core, the 2012 boasts tremendous intensity. Dark red fruit, smoke, iron and blood orange meld into higher-tones of floral notes on the finish that add an attractive upper register. The low yields of the year have given the Greves softer contours than is typically the case. Next to the Pougers, the Greves is silky, feminine and gracious.HK$4,615.00 -

Bright dark red. Lively, deep aromas of dark berries, cherry and blood orange. Broad, vibrant and harmonious, with superb sappiness and mineral tension to the red fruit and floral flavors. The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a perfumed, very floral bouquet with wilted rose petals and touches of lavender, complementing the vivacious red fruit. It is an archetypal Echézeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a fine bead of acidity. It’s quite peppery towards the finish, so you might misconstrue it as containing some whole bunches. The 2023 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a very attractive bouquet with bright and vivacious strawberry, red cherry and cranberry fruit. Quite pure and well defined, this certainly shades the preceding Clos Vougeot. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a lovely rondeur, gaining weight toward a deftly spiced and persistent finish that is real class. One of the picks from Jadot this year, this Echézeaux is as good as you will find in 2023.HK$6,320 - HK$7,725

Full reddish brown. Knockout perfumed nose combines raspberry, mocha, truffle and smoky minerality (we're entering the world of fungus, humus and leaves, noted winemaker Frédéric Barnier). Utterly spherical and round, conveying seamless flavors of raspberry, truffley underbrush and coffee. Slightly edgy tannins and acids draw out and give shape to the finish. But this bottle is a bit more evolved than I would have guessed. I'd drink it over the next few years.HK$1,460.00 -

Deep red. The nose offers an essence of Clos Saint-Jacques: raspberry, cherry, rose petal, minerals and smoke, plus a whiff of fresh leather. Wonderfully sweet but at the same time sharply delineated, conveys a nearly saline impression of extract. An ineffable floral element provides captivating inner-mouth perfume. Utterly seamless wine that finishes with perfectly harmonious tannins and palate-staining aromatic character. This is too sexy now but I'm not complaining.HK$34,380.00
