Vinous (95)
(vinified with 50% whole clusters) Bright ruby. Exotic, seductively perfumed bouquet of raspberry, mulberry, incense, dried flowers and spicecake. Lush, chewy dark fruit flavors envelop the palate, with juicy acidity adding definition and back-end cut. At once rich and energetic, finishing with excellent thrust and lingering spiciness. Sabon said that he prefers this to his 2005 version now and for the near to mid term. The '05 needs to be forgotten for a long, long time, he told me.HK$1,055.00 -
Vinous (95)
Vibrant red color. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, candied cherry, allspice and clove, with an intense floral quality that gaining strength with air. Showing more energy and delicacy from bottle than it did from barrel last year; in fact, there's something Burgundian going on here. Silky and seamless on the palate, with a bracing minerality adding punch to its sweet red fruit and floral pastille qualities. Finishes spicy and very long, with lingering red fruit and floral notes. This wine virtually always delivers the most bang for the buck of any Chateauneuf tete de cuvee and this vintage continues that streak.HK$900.00 -
Vinous (94)
Vivid ruby. Highly fragrant aromas of fresh red fruits, potpourri and smoky minerals, with a hint of allspice in the background. Silky, sweet and expansive on the palate, offering intense raspberry and cherry liqueur flavors and a bracing jolt of blood orange. Very suave, precise Châteauneuf with outstanding finishing lift and thrust and gentle tannic grip. As usual for this bottling, finesse is favored over brute strength, but there's no lack of depth and power here.HK$1,260.00 -

This sexy, opulent 2000 St.-Emilion has reached full maturity. It possesses a dense purple color to the rim along with loads of mulberry, creme de cassis, kirsch, espresso, and smoky, toasty oak characteristics, a full-bodied, sumptuous/opulent texture, silky tannins, and abundant flavor complexity. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.HK$5,435.00 -
Wine Advocate (94)
Notes of licorice, blackberry and boysenberry fruit intermixed with some charcoal, burning embers and floral notes all jump from the glass of this rich, soft, succulent wine, which possesses terrific intensity and a hedonistic personality. It is not going to be a long-ager by 2010 standards, but for consumption over the next 10-15 years, it delivers tremendous appeal.HK$12,502.00 -
Wine Advocate (95)
Another inky, opaque, purple-colored wine with beautiful blackcurrant, black raspberry, licorice and earthy undertones, this full-bodied, opulent, dense, rich 2012 (90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 14.3% alcohol) is a tour de force in this vintage. This over-achieving estate has hit a home run, which is especially impressive in 2012. This wine ideally needs several years of bottle age and should drink well for 15 or more years.HK$4,645.00 -
The Wine Cellar Insider (93)
Chocolate and black raspberry notes in the nose pair well with the plush, soft, fresh black cherries on the palate. This wine is smooth with freshness in the fruit. From a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is the first vintage to include Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. The wine reached 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.65. 91-93 PtsHK$835.00 -

The 2015 Clos Floridene offers up luscious redcurrant, wild strawberry and floral scents on the nose, almost Burgundy-like in terms of purity. The palate is well balanced with fine but firm tannin, a little pinched at the moment, but by the time of bottling it will have undone its top-shirt button. Plenty of energy here, a Graves with a nod to Volnay, bound to offer 8-10 years of pleasure.HK$1,670.00 -

The 2020 Clos Floridène is a powerful, driving wine. Bright and punchy in the glass, the 2020 has plenty of energy, all propped up by a spine of tannin that lends energy. Floral and savory accents add perfume over time. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens with élevage.HK$1,720.00 -

Vinous - Neal Martin (91-93)
The 2021 Clos Floridene has a perfumed, incense-tinged bouquet of light tobacco and undergrowth aromas and decent fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, pretty red fruit and a beautifully balanced, cohesive finish. This is how to do 2021 without having to push too hard.HK$840.00 -
(12x75cl) 1996Wine Advocate (89)
On one of the three occasions I tasted the 1996 Clos Fourtet from bottle I rated it outstanding (90 points). The color is a saturated dark ruby. The nose offers up sweet black raspberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with toasty oak and floral scents. It is fleshy, surprisingly expansive and forward for a 1996, with low acidity, and a long, multilayered, fruit-driven finish. The tannin is ripe, and thus the fruit comes forward and the wine is seductive and charming. This wine possesses the weight, richness, and extract to last for 15-20 years, but it should be drinkable early. I would not be surprised for readers to feel my score is too conservative based on how well this wine is showing. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2018.HK$11,410.00 -
(1x75cl) 2000Wine Advocate (93)
The first offering in what turned out to be a remarkable decade for this property, the 2000 Clos Fourtet was the finest wine produced here in many years, but it was subsequently eclipsed by the 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2009. The dense plum/purple-tinged 2000 exhibits notes of wet rocks, camphor, blackberries, and cassis. Full-bodied with tremendous density, it appears to have shed much of its tannin, and is through its adolescent stage. It should continue to evolve effortlessly for another decade.HK$1,220.00 -
Wine Advocate (98)
This magnificent wine, which is just beginning to come into full maturity, boasts an inky/purple color as well as copious notes of blackberries, licorice, violets, and a striking chalky minerality. Full-bodied, voluptuously textured and stunningly pure, this great Bordeaux is one of the vintage’s superstars. The finish lasts 40-45 seconds in this majestic, multidimensional St. Emilion. It should continue to drink well for 10-15 years, but why wait?HK$11,800.00 -
(1x300cl) 2005Wine Advocate (98)
Dense ruby/purple, with notes of crushed rock, blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with some licorice and chocolate, this full-bodied, massive wine from proprietor Philippe Cuvelier coincides with the resurrection of this premier grand cru classé in St.-Emilion. As the wine sits in the glass, notes of espresso roast and chocolate emerge. This full-bodied classic should continue to drink well for another 25 years. This is a killer effort.HK$7,375.00 -
(6x150cl) 2008Vinous - Neal Martin (93)
The 2008 Clos Fourtet is perhaps one of the underrated vintages of that decade. Picked between October 9 and 20 at 28.5 hl/ha, it has a fragrant nose with black cherries, bergamot, black tea and cedar, all with impressive delineation. I do not find the bell pepper scent that I noted five years ago. The palate is medium-bodied with finely sculpted tannins and plenty of dark berry fruit mixed with tea leaf/bay leaf. There's impressive grip on the fresh, sapid finish. Superb. Tasted at the Clos Fourtet vertical in April 2023.HK$12,260.00 -

Offering up awesome notes of blackcurrants, darker cherries, truffle earth, smoke, and tobacco, the 2010 Château Clos Fourtet is a powerful, full-bodied Saint-Emilion that has flawless overall balance, building yet polished, integrated tannins, remarkable freshness, and a great finish. This concentrated yet seamless 2010 will continue to drink brilliantly over the coming 40+ years. While I still give the nod to the 2009, this is unquestionably a legendary Saint-Emilion, and I wish every reader could taste it. Drink 2025-2065.HK$13,285.00 -
