Fougeray Beauclair Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2017 is a masterpiece delicate Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, France. This vineyard, under the thoughtful stewardship of Patrice Olivier, produces only a limited quantity of this opulent wine that's redolent with complex aromas of ripe cherries, truffle, and earthy undertones.
The vineyard has an eastward exposure and limestone-clay soil, ideal for growing the Pinot Noir grapes that are manually picked before undergoing a traditional Burgundian winemaking process. The wine is aged in 100% new oak, for 18 months, enhancing its rich, palate-coating flavours of red fruit, spices and toasty notes.

Vinous - Neal Martin (89)
The 2012 Fourcas Hosten has more definition and focus than the 2011, offering higher-toned and more vivacious black fruit laced with cedar and crushed stone. There is something almost Pauillac-like about this Listrac. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and well-judged acidity. It firms up toward the fresh finish, which has just the right amount of dryness and grip and an appealing marine tinge. This is worth seeking out.HK$1,585.00 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (87)
The 2014 Fourcas Hosten has a pleasant, clean bouquet that lacks the presence and concentration I expect from this decent vintage. It seems a little diffuse compared to, say, the 2012 or 2016. The palate is balanced with grainy tannins, and quite compact, leading to a bitter cherry and blackberry finish. It does not quite knit together as well as I was hoping, hence my prudent score.HK$1,775.00 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (86)
The 2015 Fourcas Hosten has a bullish, quite extravagant bouquet of high-toned blackberry and blueberry fruit; there is a sense of trying too hard to make up for the lackluster prior vintage. The medium-bodied palate shows grainy tannins that frame the tarry black fruit, and hints of pencil lead and white pepper. What this 2015 lacks is a bit of charm and elegance. There is also a sour note on the aftertaste. So-so.HK$2,020.00 -

The 2016 Fourcas Hosten is much better on the nose compared to the 2015, exhibiting more delineation and precision, and capturing your attention with plenty of vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with cedar and blood orange. The palate is well balanced with slightly chalky tannins, minerally black fruit and touches of cedar and mint. There is a sense of cohesion and confidence on the finish. This did not shine out of barrel, but now in bottle with a bit of age, it is growing in stature.HK$2,280.00 -

Cassis, smoky herbs, leather, and attractive spicy notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Fourcas Hosten, a charming, medium-bodied, beautifully balanced Listrac based on 53% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot. I like it today, yet it should keep nicely for a solid 10-15+ years if well stored.HK$1,215.00 -
