Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)
This comes from the Echezeaux du Dessus, a plot purchased in the 1960s which must have been almost immediately replanted as the vines are now 50 years old. 30% whole bunch vinification and 70% of the cuvée is in new wood but we tasted from a one year old barrel. Equally dense purple in colour. Haunting qualities with real depth. Firm and forceful, some fine-grained tannins, covered with a wealth of rich red fruit including some strawberries.HK$26,780.00 -
Vinous (87-89)
Gilles Jayer's 2013 Bourgogne-Hautes Côtes de Beaune is a jewel of a wine within its category. Crushed berries, flowers and chalky notes are all nicely delineated in a lifted, precise Burgundy endowed with lovely energy and fine balance. The Côtes de Beaune can at times be a bit rustic, but the 2013 looks to have an extra level of sophistication to it.HK$3,640.00 -
Burghound (86-88)
Moderate reduction knocks down the fruit though there is good vibrancy and detail to the delicious flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the focused and lingering finish. This is carrying enough structure to suggest that it will need a year or two to unwind and develop better depth.HK$3,155.00 -
(6x150cl) 2018Wine Advocate (88-90)
Offering up aromas of cherries and cassis, deftly framed by a touch of new oak, the 2018 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with a rich core of fruit, powdery tannins and lively acids. Still primary and youthful, it had yet to be bottled when I tasted it.HK$3,235.00 -
Vinous (88-90)
One of Burgundy's great under the radar wines Jayer's Bourgogne-Hautes Côtes de Nuits is once again terrific in 2013. Plum, red cherry, menthol, spice and violets meld together in a juicy, pliant Burgundy that over delivers. Beautifully layered in the glass, the 2013 will drink well upon release and for another decade or so beyond that.HK$4,220.00 -
(6x150cl) 2017Burghound (86-89)
A pretty and very fresh nose combines notes of both red and dark cherry with an airy array of floral nuances. Once again there is good intensity and vibrancy to the slightly bigger and richer flavors that possess a bit better depth and persistence on the mildly more structured finale. This is very good for its level and is worth considering provided you can allow it at least a few years of cellar time.HK$3,235.00 -

Vinous (92)
The 2011 Nuits St. Georges Les Hauts Porrets is beautifully centered focused. Here it is the wine's density and power that stand out most. Hints of leather, plum, mint and sweet spices add complexity in an impeccable, utterly delicious Burgundy. It's all there in the 2011 Les Hauts Porrets.HK$6,215.00 -
Vinous (90-93)
Remarkably vivid in the glass, the 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Hauts Porrets is super-impressive. Black cherries, menthol and spices are some of the many notes that come alive in an outrageously beautiful Burgundy loaded with tons of potential. I can't wait to taste this from bottle.HK$5,225.00 -
Vinous (89)
Bright dark red. Brisk, tight nose hints at dark fruits and minerals. In a juicy but very dry style, and distinctly imploded today. This tannic, slightly hard-edged wine is tough going. A puzzling showing: my score gives it the benefit of some doubt.HK$5,745.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-93)
Bright, dark ruby-red. Very pure, vibrant aromas of kirsch, blackberry, licorice and cocoa powder. Strongly mineral-driven on the palate but not aggressive, with concentrated dark fruit and saline flavors complemented but not overshadowed by the 100% oak. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely floral persistence. Gilles Jayer told me that this climat on thin soil over rock belongs entirely to him and to Domaine Machard de Gramont and really merits premier cru classification. My notes and scores on this cuvée over the past 15 to 20 years suggest that he's right.HK$6,345.00 -

Bursting from the glass, the 2017 Syrah has a mineral essence with aromas of summer sausage, black raspberry, blackberry and dark plum with savory aromas of black pepper spices, potpourri, touches of cocoa powder and freshly roasted coffee bean. The wine has a focus and precision that presides with the top bottlings from around the world. Aromas of newly tilled earth explode from the glass with floral notions of lilac and rose nuances that waft with spicy tones. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is seamless, bounding forth with complexity and a velvety richness that is exponentially compounded by the power the resides at its core. Devastatingly gorgeous, it takes my breath away, as the wine ends with a tightly wound, complex expression that continues to evolve over the elongated finish. With only 1,800 bottles made, good luck finding some, for if you do, you will undoubtedly be the envy of your wine treasure-hunting friends.HK$7,860.00 -

More iron, beef blood, and foresty, mushroom, almost metallic notes all emerge from the 2019 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard, another savory, powerful, incredibly impressive wine in this lineup. Deep purple/plum-hued, this full-bodied beauty has both black and blue fruits, ripe, building, yet polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a gorgeous finish. There's a liquid rock-like minerality as well as a meaty, leathery character that's not far off a great vintage of La Chapelle. It's certainly the richest and most concentrated of the trio of Syrahs in 2019. Give bottles 3-5 years and enjoy over the following 25-30 years.HK$6,320.00 -

Dense ruby/purple, with a glorious nose of blackberries, cassis, white flowers, licorice, and a hint of sweet oak, this seamless wine is a classic example of purity and symmetry. Combining power with charm and finesse in a deeply textured, rich, elegant, yet authoritatively flavorful style, this is a brilliant effort as well as a compliment to proprietor Christian Moueix.HK$11,180.00 -
(6x75cl) 2004Wine & Spirit Magazine (94)
In 1999 JP Moueix purchased this parcel of what had been Certan-Giraud and renamed it Hosanna. Though neighboring Pétrus, the pleasures of the wine are far more delicate. Floral scents of jasmine and fraises des bois combine with licorice spice as it takes on air, all standing against the blackness of the tannin, earthbound and powerful in its own light-handed way. Both shy and tough, this wine needs ten years from the vintage to begin to show its complexities.HK$5,365.00 -
(3x150cl) 2008Wine Advocate (95)
Possibly as remarkable as both the 2009 and 2010, the 2008 Hosanna is one of the superstars of the vintage. Its dense plum/purple color is followed by aromas and flavors of spring flowers, black currants, boysenberries, white chocolate and forest floor. This irresistible, opulent, textured, fleshy 2008 should continue to drink well for 15-20+ years. don't miss it!HK$8,285.00 -

Stunning aromas of blackberries, dark chocolate, hazelnut and black olive skin. Full- bodied, with ultra-fine tannins that feel fine silky on my palate. Long finish of coffee bean, chocolate and dark fruits. Best Hosanna ever. Try in 2020.HK$1,935.00 -
The Wine Independent (98)
Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2010 Hosanna storms out with earthy notes of crushed rocks, tar, and truffles, leading to a core of black cherry compote and plum preserves with hints of star anise and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate delivers loads of savory and mineral layers and ripe, rounded tannins, finishing with great length and precision.HK$10,720.00 -

(1x75cl) 2015Jeb Dunnuck (99)
A monumental wine is the 2015 Hosanna and it’s 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc raised in (I suspect) all new barrels that’s from a single parcel of older vines. One of those rare wines to pair incredible opulence with off the charts elegance and purity, it’s up with the top handful of wines in this vintage and readers should do whatever they can to taste this beauty. Loaded with notions of blackcurrants, black raspberries, toasty oak, truffles, graphite, and spice-box, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, an ethereal, seamless texture, perfect balance, and a huge finish. It’s unquestionably one of the superstars in the vintage and should last for 25-30 years. Hats off to the Moueix team!HK$1,425.00
